Hi,
Building new pc.
I have the ult3141Ultra V Power Supply 500W. Comes with alot of connectors.
Mobo is the ABIT IP35-E.

Now, the Abit manual says to connect the 24 pin to power slot. ALSO, they recommend to connect a 8 PIN to a 2nd power slot (but can use 4 pin if only available).

Also, they say to connect a PCI express power connector to a 3rd slot.

I also bought a geforce 8600GT card.

So, I googled and cant find what connectors are on this Ultra V.

Do you recommend I connect the PCI Express Power (I Know ultra has that connector)?
Also, do I definately need to connect the 24-pin PLUS the 4 pin/8pin connector? What if I only have the 4 pin? Will it matter?

Thanks!

Dude wtf you doing? If you dont know basics why are you doing it alone. You should be aware that if you connect it wrong you will burn youre mobo and cpu. You should really get some help in person. Now to connection. Plug 24 pin in mobo. Check you alligned it right. Then plug 4 pin in. If youre mobo is 4 pin only then its ok. Pci ex connector goes in gpu only if you have it on youre card. I think 8600 doesnt need extra power. But you should check youre gpu manual.

I dont believe the Ultra V has a 8-PIN power connector (just 4). Ok, so Ill connect that along with the 24-pin.

I didnt think I needed to connect the extra power connector for the pci express devices. Only using 8600GT card thats pci-express. No, the EVGA Card does not have its own power connector. I read somewhere though that if you want to overclock it, then to power the pci-express slot from the power supply. Since I do have that connector already on my power supply, i figured it wont hurt..But will prob just use extra power that I might be wasting.

So youre PSU has only 4 pin connector? Ok then put 4 pin in and it should work but you wont be able to clock it. Is this youre mobo?

No, my board is this one:
http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/productimage/13-127-031-05.jpg

It has the 24 pin - got that. It shows the 8 pin connector (still not sure if the ultra V has 8 pins) - got that. Also shows the 'Additional Power connector' - that should be the PCI-Express connector- Dont bother connecting that?

Ok Found the specs on my PS:

This PSU has the following connectors:

1 - 20/24 Pin Motherboard Connector
1 - 4 Pin +12V Motherboard Connectors
8 - 4 Pin Molex Connectors
2 - 4 Pin Floppy Power Connectors
1 - PCI Express Connector
2 - SATA Connectors

So - I dont have a 8PIN Power connector. I guess ill be using just 4..So no Overclocking then?
