hahah i clicked on the topic to recommend the exact same thing 
arent i/o's designed so that you can just push em and they'll pop out? does on my case...

Oh gross, I hate those kind of steel cases. I can't really tell from those pics but are there lil spot welds on the edges of the panel? Kinda like the PCI slots have?

Dude you need tu push it out. You push from outside to inside. Its quite easy. You only need to use youre strenght. And btw you cant damage anything.

All I/O plates can be removed. If its welded or somet i would just throw that case in the bin!. But its 100% not. Like Nakitu said...PUSH HARDER!

I seems to be welded or soldered quite well. Didnt want to bend it/destroy it. But, guess will have to. Thanks will have to push then from outside - in..and pop it out on the inside.
How do you recommend putting on the new I/O panel? Just pop it in from the inside? It should then just stay in place on own?

Normally the I/O plate that comes with the Mobo will just pop in and stay there. It has flanges on both sides that sort a holds it in place using the material tension sort a.

You put panel from inside out. You need to squeze it in. You will need to use all youre strenght. Try to bend it little if you have trouble putting it in. Thats the worst part for me when building new pc.

If it's spot welded just find loose corners and bend it out of shape till the welds break loose. god I hate those old cases like that. |

You got yourself a cheap case there, don't be afraid to break the I/O shield. When are you gonna need it again anyway.

got it out. new one was a little tricky to fit in - but got it. new pc runs great! thanks for your help!
