just played it online 
after that forced update today halo 3 servers went online 
I did the beginners thing... only 5 people where there lol.
It's like on most levels the guy with the 2 guns wins the 1on1 battle

So those of you bitching about the end of the game waited till after the end of the credits?
This is what I saw AFTER the end of the credits, on Heroic difficulty.
 Spoiler: | MC doesn't actually die, he is still alive.... The ship was split in two as it went back through the portal. He and Cortana survive and MC goes back into a stasis pod just like the one he came out of in the first game. "Don't wake me unless you need me." |

well , halo 3 is not a bad game, but to me it seems like the horse is tired. what made us go wow 3 years ago just doensn't cut it anymore, just because they added some nice textures.

just played it for 15 minutes after getting home from work tonight...the beginning was meh...so does it get any better? I played through Halo 1 on the PC, played 2 levels of Halo 2 on the xbox. Is it in 2 that that Covenant guy comes to the UNSC's side?

It is too bad that Bungie didn't try and do something completely different gameplay wise at least something that set aside this game from the other two. I at least enjoy most of the levels as it seems Bungie got back to what made Halo great with 'open' levels.
Now I want to try co-op on live but cant find anyone to play with sadly.

Look at the differences between Halo1 and Halo2... now look at Halo3. The jump is a lot greater (and I'm not talking graphics).
Spiked grenades, bubble shield, trip mines, cloaking, invincibility, energy drain, regenerator, removable turrets (to name a few) - these all add a sh*tload to the gameplay. It's not just a case of "meh, new weapons" either (wait until everyone is on live and we can see how much these new tools effect battle tactics)

just played the second half of the campaign and beat it, good game ending was a bit meh. End of an epic trilogy deserves a bit better than that

just play the damm thing, lol, if you get banned you get banned, you've saved anough cash outlay on free gamers to go and get a core replacement. Makes me laugh everytime i see a MS update or a game thats possibly slightly altered. If you cannot accept that you may be banned they why play copied games.

Haven't tried online yet but the single player was really short, Bioshock was longer in comparison. I didn't exactly sit down and time myself but 4 short sittings was all it took. The game was great with 5.1 and the sound up it was really atmospheric with the whole epic sci fi movie feel. You'll get the graphics whores who complain.. my friend walked in and was like '...doesn't look as good as Gears of War'.
Ending was disappointing but meh I didn't really invest in the story anyway.

It's all fine. The ASSCLOWN release uses a new image format which is better than the old one (it is "more stealth" on non-iXtreme firmwares).

i burnt the Halo_3_XBOX360-CCCLX version and its not working on my xbox360.
it says i need to update my xbox and it doesnt find the update on the disc.
has anyone has encounter this error?
what cna i do?

i guess you should first connect to xbox live to get your dashboard up-to-date

No online function so far, but you can simulate a LAN with XBConnect - so no XBlive involved.
The ending is fine. Just wait a little bit (they haven't closed it for a sequel =).

anybody playing on XBC or kai yet? I jumped on KAI last night to get a game going but there was only one room and they were playing campaign. Just wondering where there will be more people playing, kai or xbc.

Hmmm....
Yesterday i played a few matches on Xbox Live.
Today it says it cannot connect to the Halo 3 Servers.

I think you're confusing the two.
But yeah I'm also very happy with the game.
Halo's graphics are definitely good enough.
Graphics are usually overrated anyway... graphics won't entertain you. they might give you a *wow* effect early on when you start playing a game with breathtaking graphics (gears of war when it came out, crysis probably too when it comes out), but when you get used to the graphics then they're nothing special anymore and you won't care about em.
So complaining about halo 3 because it doesn't have the best graphics of any game yet is kinda lame.
