ditto,
its sooo 2003
sure it looks good, but the gameplay is generic
and like i said before, never played TF, but i did play plenty of ETF, and well, ETF was better
but, its still beta, maybe if more people see it for what it is they will improve it.
pyro has the flame, a shotgun, and a bottle? where is the gas grenade he can light with the flame?

TF2 is great, it has it's flaws, but overall it's a nice get in and go type multiplayer game, and they could expand on it later on. Personally after visiting TFC recently for nostalgia, the nade spam really does make you appreciate the fact that they removed them.

alls im saying is its a plain jane game and without the hype and, apparently, its predecessor, there is nothing there.
Battlefield has customizable kits, ranking, 64 player servers, etc etc. 2142 has over 40 unlocks giving the game a rpg element.
TF2 has around 9 static kits, each consisting of 3 items, a main gun, a knife or whatever they think is cute, and a secondary gun like a shotgun or pistol. 24 player servers (at least so far).
i dont see any value in TF2 for $30, but thats just my opinion.
your better off buying BF2 for $10, and playing the mods out for that.
just trying to balance the thread somewhat... i still am happy with Orange Box and do not regret buying it.

are any one having random crashes once in a while? Game run pretty smooth, can last about 30-60 mins then a random crash. Also does anyone think TFT2 have some evil genius aspect? Like cartoon and minons wise

not everyone wants realism warfare in every fps they play.
and the static kits which make up the classes are static for that exact reason, to make up specific classes.
just dont compare bf2 and tf2 imo ^^

People complain too much. I like this game a lot; they did a great job imo. Just be thankful that there’re games still that aren’t being developed to the consoles first, and then ported to the pc.

choke on something and die would you? stop trying to give something credibility by diluting the term even further. A simple fucking choice or upgrade doesn't make something an rpg or give it "rpg elements". It gives it a choice or an upgrade ability.
I gave my k-car "Ferrari elements" yesterday by putting a door and wheels on it..

I have this weird 1 sec delay kinda thing when i shoot grenades or rockets. I have no lag at all and I even when i have ping 10 it happens. I can shoot guns etc normally but grenades and rockets are all fucked up when I shoot them. My fps is high that's not the problem either. It feels like packet loss but i can just use every other weapon normally instant.

You can play beta for free. There is a non steam version floating around and so are cracked servers. I'll give you a hint where to look for it:

I think it's very very well done, and I've had a lot of fun playing it the past few days. I really don't see it holding my interest for very long though.
Does anyone know if they are planning to release more maps or anything when the orange box launces? Six? maps really isn't much.

But it is really as they say, then you are in to a game do you really play more then 6 maps? then I listen to CS players all they talk about is de_dust(2) (took a look now at the steam servers and it is true) 6 "good" maps is all that is needed.

They will create a map or two extra I'm sure - and there will be custom maps at some point - but I agree with Karmeck. Quality over quantity and I'm very happy with the maps I've played so far (and I've only played about 3/4 )

Don't do illegal things on a legal account. Don't use patched Steam with a legal account.

The game is 1379mb big, the other stuff is the source engine witch all Valve games use. And hl2 is about 800mb but the steam folder will still take up lots of gig's but if you install them both at the same time it wont be 6gb + 6gb, that is becurs they share the same engine files.

I do find that it's a game that makes more sense and is much more fun if you're actually the one playing it though
