Wow!!! I had Riva Tuner 2.01 beta installed. I downloaded Riva Tuner 2.04 from Guru3d and installed it. My frames rates jumped right up to where I expect them to be! Well, almost.
OC Settings - 631 Core/1902 Memory
Very High - 29 Max - 15 Ave (Obviously it's still low but at least it is better than before)
Riva Tuner 2.02 and Up Guide:

Worked great for me, it may work for you. I figure my Riva Tuner 2.01 wasn't working properly or it was corrupted.

I did another test and installed the newest version of Fraps. It ran with the benchmark. Fraps and the benchmark were mirror images of each other. I was hoping the benchmark was not working properly. I smell a patch for optimizations. I have been using the new Nvidia 163.69 driver.

I agree with you fully MD. I think that is what i miss aswel.. This game just doesnt feel like something great like starcraft, command and conquer or company of heroes did. I think it should be categorized as "action rts" or something. It doesn't really have much depth, i mean online you play in a team right? you can only chose one form of units , infantry , air, tanks etc etc and have to rely fully on your team mates to have fun because if one guy isnt doing his job thats it, the game is spoilt for everyone.
The missions just feel so.. "empty" that is the best way i can describe the game, nice on the outside, hollow on the inside. I knew there was something i didnt like about the game when i was doing training, 5 small "days" of the training session and thats it? so basically all i do is point and click units to the front line and reinforce? they blow some stuff up, the artillery guy bombs a few buildings and then we repeat..
Im gonna go to town tomorrow and buy company of heroes instead of this.
Dont get me wrong its not a "bad" game just really seems shallow and boring with excellent graphics. And i now know how much i love resource and base building, not to mention micro management and strategy over action.

Weird MistressDeath
I have the same cpu with ASUS p5b board and 8600GT card.
Average is 28, max 52 at 1280x1024 medium settings. No problems at all and I'm using latest official drivers from NVIDIA.
Good luck.

I really couldn't have said it better Watergem. I found myself thinking of Supreme Commander Forged Alliance, Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts, C&C3 Kanes Wrath and of course WH40K Dark Crusade!! You are right, it's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, just different. It is a new class of RTS and should be classified under Action RTS. I have already started playing CoH with the DirectX 10 patch and I am very happy (Except now I cannot remove my SAND BAGS! GRRR!) Base building and resource gathering are the bomb. Even if resource gathering is removed and replaced with area occupied resources, at least the base building is there.
RTS Score 5 out of 10
Action RTS Score 8 out of 10 (Didn't like the camera controls either)

The reason for that is because when you use medium settings it disables DirectX10 and you are now using DirectX9. Not mention all the other items that are disabled using medium settings compared to very high.
Try using very high settings and let me know what you end up with. That will be a good benchmark for me.
Thanks,

Overrated, to say the least... Anyone else that thinks Act Of War was way more fun than this? BTW I can't seem to have 5.1 sound in the game. Everything about my card and system is fine. This is the only game I play stereo. There is no option for the sound provider on the game menu either. Well... this sucks...

This game is, at its heart, a multiplayer game. Playing it single player to me, feels like playing counter strike against bots. Playing it multiplayer is when it really shines.

thing is right.. I cant get myself to buy the game on the gamble that i will like the multiplayer.. see if i play the single player and i dont like it.. it kinda seems too much of a risk to buy the game for the multiplayer cos i might hate it

A demo with full online play on the seaside map has been out for awhile if you want to test out multiplayer, unless they deactivated it upon release which I doubt they did. I dont really like the seaside map but still its the same game no matter the map.

World in Conflict simply cannot offer the kind of battles depicted below
Spoiler: | Square Off
As my presentation comes to an end, Mosqueira loads up a level to give us
a quick demonstration of the two new armies in battle. Under the cover of darkness and a stinging rain, a couple of British squads cautiously stalk across open terrain to capture a resource point, with a Cromwell tank and their lieutenant standing watch. Once the point's been captured, Mosqueira has one squad build a slit trench while the other takes cover behind the standard sandbags. Lightning flashes overhead, illuminating the forces at work.
Minutes later, a couple of the half-track vehicles of the Panzer Elite roll into the square, with German soldiers leaning out of them, firing their Panzerschrecks at the Cromwell tank. However, they don't last long against the heavily dug-in British.
Time to even things up a bit. The steady rumble of a tank fills the air, and suddenly one of the walls of the square crumbles before the might of a Panther. Panzer Elite troops flood through the gap in the wall and the scene descends into chaos, with machine-gun fire filling the air and explosions rocking the screen. Mosqueira switches back to the British to call in some help courtesy of the Royal Canadian Artillery. Soon, shells begin to drop from the sky and the battle really heats up.
Panning around, the units that took cover behind the sandbags have been totally wiped out and the Cromwell's been decimated by the superior Panther. All that remains is a handful of plucky Brits in the slit trench withstanding hit after hit. When only one is left, it looks like the battle's going the way of the Germans. Suddenly, reinforcements arrive, and a neat bit of flanking exposes the weaker parts of the Panther's armour to the two newly arrived tanks, while the infantry reinforcements mop up any German stragglers. A moment to feel patriotic if ever I saw one. |
Bring on the god of RTS games part 2!

Naiive battle. If it was for real the PE would have just chucked incendiaries into the British trenches, and then picked off the Cromwell in a matter of seconds with their schrecks.
Seriously, the game sounds great with all these hyped up reviews, but I recommend you play it at a friend's place or something like that before buying.

Interesting! I ran the benchmark on very high at 1600x1200 and I received my highest score yet!
Max - 46
Ave - 20
So, it looks like the driver 163.69 and the 8800 GTS 640mb runs better at high resolutions.
