The graphics aren't the problem with the consoles, it is the very limited memory footprint. What killed DeusEx2 and Theif3 was the memory limitations of the consoles which forced the developers to make itty bitty levels, the exact opposite of what DeusEx [the original] had.

There has been no improvement since the release of DeusEx2 and Theif3, so there is no hope for the glory days of DeusEx when the PC was the target platform.

Consoles have, like AIDS or CANCER in the human body, become an ugly malignancy on game development, killing innovation and complexity.

What i mean about the screenshot.

It is not DeuxEx3, it is from Dx:invisible War, right after you escape from the lab you enter the city, if you go forward you encounter a couple of thugs near trash boxes, if you go right, you will arrive at the place, where that screenshot was made.

lol what screenshot are you talking about, I don't see any posted here lol

Not that it matters but this is regarding the screen shot which is obviously a fake.. Arrg, man I am lazy today!

Bioshock didn't have small levels. They were pretty damn big till you actually had to go to a loading screen, but other than that, ya, consoles killed it's style

No amigo! Bioshock only appeared to be big, but was cluttered with many objects and small rooms that made the illusion of a spread-out environment. People who worship the original Deus Ex are looking for levels like Liberty Island, where you could encircle the ENTIRE place without having a single loading screen! The old unreal engine was the best. Games like Serious Sam, with huge levels, or Unreal Tournament. I rather have that engine with the old graphics than Bioshock’s graphics and a contained consoley design. Also, that's why most shooters are dark and indoors these days. I wish there would be a console holocaust....

The best way to revive a classic game these days is by getting the funds from a rich person who liked the original and wants to invest without greed.

What?! BioShock didn't have small levels? Lulz, I mean, not as small as HL2's, but please... If it was done for PC alone, the entire underwater city could have been done with UE3's streaming engine.

Obviously, you can’t understand my interpretation of a small level.

What you talking about Willis? Laughing STALKER has even bigger maps than Deus Ex, BioShock, whatever. And it doesn't load every 5 minutes, far from it.

Absolutely. Deus Ex was and still is the end all, be all. Don't mar the legend or Gunther will shoot you with his skull gun!

You three fucking fail at humour. It's obviously not meant to be a real shot. It's a joke. Look at the interface: play, pause, fast-forward, shoot. Hurr.. Deus Ex 2 was dumbed down DX3 will be really easy to play.[/joke] Jesus.

Bringing a older topic back Deus Ex 3 has been confirmed.

Link

Unsure what to say, first title was good and the second was OK but I'm not sure about this third title.

doubt they'd be smart enough to license an engine. They've been using the same engine on their games for how long now?

well seeing as the dxiw engine was ue2, ue3 doesn't seem out of the question, plus it provides that heavy bloomy "next gen" screenshots (admit you loved the bloomy bioshock screens) Very Happy

lol so funny "[Deus Ex] was very highly rated at its release in 2000" and I agree completely but they forgot to mention a huge disaster that was Deus Ex2 Smile I know, I wish just like they do that they never released that console piece of shit but they did, you can't turn the clock back now, although they are trying hard to make it look like that never happened.

It's pathetic, such a classic ruined for the second time like it wasn't bad enough the first time. I hope they don't sell a single copy, that would teach them not to stab the PC in the back, it's heresy!
