dual monitor support is only on DX10 I believe. No idea why, but it's just like that.
If you got a DX10 gpu you can have the tactical map on one display.

I am curious why there is still 2 weeks until it is out in stores, as the game has been gold for 1 month already.

Because the release date was set a few months ago and back then, they didn't know exactly when they would go gold.

Rarely ever does a game go gold 1 MONTH + 2 weeks before release. Usually a game is golden 2 weeks before it hits retail. Developers don't sit on their asses and do nothing for so long, they keep on polishing until almost release.

Yes, usually devs don't finish games on time anyway. They push back release dates, work until the deadline and then release an unfinished game that gets a few patches very soon (sometimes even on release date). This is not polished to me.
In this case, they consider the game really finished. This sounds good to me.

Parallax, you're wrong about that.
Game season is coming up and these dates are critical;
2 to 3 weeks before a good game and 2 to 3 weeks after is usually not a good idea.
You have to look at your competition and choose a good release date within that window.
Our game is coming out on Nov. 15th yet we are less than a month from being Gold.
If we release two weeks after gold we will still be in the Halo 3 craze thus useless for if we release around Nov. 15th that means we'll be close to American Thanks Giving which has Black Friday which is one of the biggest shopping time of the year and you add to that the rest of the Christmas shopping.
Plus, once gold, if the game is multiplatform, you still need time to print, spread and distribute all over the world.
Note to self: come up with a good sig.

All I am saying is USUALLY a game goes gold around 2 weeks before it hits the shelves. This happens with most games. Sometimes games are pushed back as to not bump into strong sales candidates, yes, but that occurs before a game is golden, which allows for more polishing time. Generally speaking, not that I would know anything about your specific project, or whatever your involvement is in it, Malveous. I just find it curious that WIC went gold 6 weeks before the shelf date.

I don't think massive will have a problem.
The best protection for a game is a good multiplayer mode with key protection, and as WiC's multiplayer mode is the probably the best part of the game and absolutely awesome I'm sure it'll sell very well.
Personally I''m looking forward to the multiplayer mode the most so I'll buy it for sure.
