I dont mean to sound harsh, but I never knew the guy personally so why should I or any of you care? Ive never understood why people get so upset over someone they never even met.. bit like the ridiculous hysteria when Diana died.. basically she was just another of those parasites living off the rest of us Brits.. and for some reason people got so upset.. just very odd imo

I have to agree with Reg. I had a few arguments about Irwins death on the forums. I couldn't understand it. Be upset at someone you've never met who happened to die.

It's not always who you know but some people you get attach with even if you will never meet them, because of what they do. I wasn't a big animal planet fan but I remember an episode where he would go late at nights and pick up frogs that messed up the ecosystem.

Would you be upset if a 8year old got raped and tortured to death? Or would you just dont care couse you never met the child?

And most people get upset when famous (especielly people who do good) die, nothing new about that.

Its not the same thing Macknu, not even close. I would be more angry than upset. Would I be upset if I heard on the news that some halfwit decided to arm wrestle a rabid gorilla. No not at all. If a grown man intentionally puts himself and his family at risk. Then basically I think what a stupid bastard, he needs his head seeing to.
Irwins show wasn't about the animals. It was about him putting himself at risk. He was the star, not his subjects. He wasn't a serious animal expert. Not like someone like David Attenbourgh. Now that guy does know his stuff.

Weren't you going on about Madeline at some point? The same reasoning applies to her.

no, thats bitching because the world is fucked up.

swimming amongst some stingray and getting stinged is just, well, your own bloody fault; so people should not bitch about it. he had fun, and died, too bad

I was specifically referring to this part:

" I couldn't understand it. Be upset at someone you've never met who happened to die."

Anyway I think people are mainly mourning the lack of his continuing contribution to their entertainment.

it's two different things when someone practically commits suicide and another person gets killed Rolling Eyes

what good did he realy did, swim with crocs Laughing
he just took unnecessary risk that kept ppl entertained that's all, which got him killed in the process

I think some of you misinterpreted my comments - If a kid gets abducted and killed by some evil bastard then yes of course its a tradgedy and we all feel extremely sad.. If yet another train crash happens over here because rail-track will not spend any money on maintanance. We feel sad and extremely angry because it could have been averted so easily..

However if some parasite whom none of us knew, gets killed in a tunnel in what is an accident or some looney guy who annoyed animals for a living gets his bollox bitten off - why should we give a toss?

If i posted a topic on here informing everyone my mum had died - I'd assume there would be lots of sympathetic comments - but deep down none of you would really care, and indeed why should you? you had no personal involvement, you didnt know my mum.. etc etc.. i'm sure you get what i'm on about Smile

It is same thing, you said you didnt know why people care about a stranger and now all of a sudden you do becouse its an innocent child.
He knew about reptils, and from what i heard did lots of good job down there. He didnt put his or his familys lifes at risk more then you put your family at risk. He got attacked by a peaceful fish who usually dont attack.

Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

Heh. I was gonna mention the baby episode too, Jen. I can't say I don't give a shit about his death, but I don't feel THAT sorry either. He was asking for it. And he had to be put behind the bars for risking the baby's life.

Laughing I did, and thats not anywhere in it. Not even Steve Irwin would put his child in a position like that (A the stance where they give them food). Fake. Don't you think the newspapers would have that pic as "first-page" when the shit hit the fan.
