yeah by visuals i ment the special effects. sorry about that. the overall style of the film was amazing, but the digital and practical visual effects were the weakest aspect of the film. hope that clears it up.

Wrong turn 2 - 3/10. Gory? Yes, rubbish? That too.

If I could be arsed I would insert a picture of both ham and cheese here.

Oh and for the record, The Hills Have Eyes 2 - 3/10 also.

FIDO 7/10 Brilliant film if you are in to the macabre...I am sure they asked Tim Burton to direct this one, has Burton written all over it.

Was thinking exactly the same! Really reminded me of a Burton movie, but overall a nice suprise

Death Proof - 8/10 - I liked it (yes, even the long bits of chicks doing nothing but talking Wink), however, I don't really see how this fits in as a 'grindhouse' movie at all... also, I liked this:

8/10 is way over-rated imo

Hostel : 6 /10 ... uhm that's not for the weak of heart ... a (great) bit of splatter in there ... unfortunately besides the splatter and a few beautiful girls there is little else.

V for Vendetta : 6,5 / 10 ... a nice movie with a sufficient story but with a too much slow pace for my taste ... shortened by 1/3 and with a bit more action it could have been far better imho, however pleasant to see once.

vendetta was such an overhyped movie... the story was nothing special, the action was non-existant, and the dialogue wasnt clever... the only marks i can really give it is for having hugo weaving in it, and some nice art design.

i agree with u, i cannot say (as my vote says) that i didn't like it at all but it just don't reach a more than barely sufficient level in any field.
But that's a common point to many films that begin with publicity, previews, etc to create hype months or even years before they exit and then are forgotten the day after you see them.

Zodiac 7/10

It´s a quite long movie, but I didn´t feel bored and it kept interesting till the end.
Good movie.

wow, I totally think the opposite... Razz Though not about the hugo weaving part! Other then that I think it was quite important not to let it die down in a ditch of violence instead of a clever plot which not only makes the movie very intelligent but also progress in a metaplan.

it didnt have a clever plot thats just the point... the issues it raised are good ones but it never went very far with them... people wanted to think the movie was deeper than it was, and it just didnt really reach very far.... basically it didnt have anything in it that was new that we havent seen before in one form or another, nor was it very thought provoking...

think of it this way... if the marketing team didnt make SURE everyone, their grandmother, and their dog, knew that the wachowski's were involved (though they were pretty ambiguous on purpose as to how exactly they were involved... im sure many thought they directed), and without weavings brilliant performance, i guarantee you this movie would have faded away without much notice.

oh and that gay guy was in it too... hes cool. good actor.

Not as clever as Moore would have intended it, but it sure was above average!
If it became just another action sci-fi flick it would have gone below average and lost all its potential in a second...
The depths might not become clear in the plot itself, but rather in the small details such as numerous references to 1984, the letter "V" and the continous critizism on the modern politician. But it all couldnt have been done without weaving of course!
