Yup. with the Nvidia drivers just make sure you have the newest beta drivers from Nzone.com. Force AA in the graphic options.

ATI cards on the other hand, make sure you have the latest beta drivers and have applied the bioshock hotfix. This may help correct alot of the texture issues.

I think lolcats is a custom ISO and ind is an image of the original dvd. LOLCATS = set it and forget it. IND = gotta use the maxi image/crack. I think LOLCATS installs the same crack in the custom installer.

LOLCATS release doesn't require to you to apply any crack or something else to circuvment the protection... It's fishy and probably a home made / manipulated / custom ISO.

So? It's better than having to copy the dir, kill installer and the apply patch...

With mini-image and DT4.10 you don't need to copy the dir and stop the patching process.

No, you just need to mount this, mount that, move this, set this, write this, execute 10 steps AND IT DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK. Rolling Eyes

10 steps? I found that for those like myself where mounting the regular ISO + the mini image doesn't work, you can extract the ISO files to the HD and run the setup from a folder on your HD with the mini image mounted. It's not hard, really if you have enough knowledge to download the release or do whatever, you can extract an ISO.

I also can't notice the difference between DX9/10. So you can play on XP I guess. And yes I do have a DX10 card.

Lulz, exactly my point. Why would you want to do all that, when you can have a custom installer that installs it for you without the hustle?

I was planning on doing my own custom install, but the Lolcats release came along and it's great, so I'll be using that for the time being.

The only real noticeable difference with DX10 is particle effect are blended a lot better and shadows are alot crisper.

I suspecet the LOLCATS method and the others install just about the exact same files.
LOLCATS just does a nice automation of the process.

An update will most likely invalidate them all.

On the bright side - the next crack should be easier for this activation method. SecuRom can't possibly have many more workaround once its been busted.

No, you need the iND. Since the LOLCATS doesn't install SecuROM drivers, and the crack/workaround uses SecuROM it doesn't work. Then you first need to install the demo or something. The iND is the only fully working release.

well i downloaded some unknown original iso, and ive also downloaded the lolcats proper. ima install the lolcats on another pc thats never had the demo or any version of the game previously installed, then try running it without adding anything else, and then we'll hopefully have an answer. if it doesnt work, ill try adding the ind crack and seeing if that fixes it.

When installing the game, it says that it is downloading the latest patch. But what patch is this? As far as I can see, no patch has been releases for Bioshock?

Well? Did you try? I'd like to know if Lolcats works on a clean machine! Thank you!
