I'm on vista, and the crack at least does not work. The game itself works as far as it will without a crack, but the crack doesn't work.

Can anybody else confirm this?
I dont have the original exe, but the crack exe doesn't look like unpacked, so i doubt its even a crack at all.
And so this release is not "not working", but "fake" (if thats true).

leeched whole release and tested myself. nothing is cracked, exe is just the original and you cant activate/bypass the activation.

Its amazing that this guy actually got this legitimately released. Its a complete fake with the REAL EXE that has not been touched.

just to make sure you guys who says crack doesnt work downloaded the release from them , did all the steps etc ... not that some try to just put the crack on a previous installed release or their legit install

Well... who knows, maybe it actually works for those onehitwonder guys, it just wasnt tested or something, or they have cracked it very poorly- only for their system.

Cant get past the serial activation, it connects to a server to verify so i dont see how writing a random number will work.
You guys are confusing a fake release with a non-working release, this is a legit iso.
After you install the game the bioshock.exe file isnt installed, this file is most likely downloaded after the install. Thats why ohw included it in the iso, doesnt seem like its cracked though.

It should still be nuked, regardless of whether or not the ISO itself is legit. There are plenty of ISO ups that are not scene releases.

I followed all the instructiosn in bs-ohw.nfo but when I go to enter a serial #, I get the message "Activation process has been terminated. Please make sure the SERIAL NUMBER has been entered correctly." etc. Btw, the "crack" is just an a virgin exe that the installer fails to download

Game works fine for me.
Ohh yeah thats cos I actually payed for it. doh!
Just go out and buy it, its well worth the money who cares about the copy protection. Never did me any harm.

Seriously, and I'm not trying to cause trouble here but the continuous use of this statement has absolutely no place here. I'm very happy that some of you have bought the game but this isn't the place to take the moral high ground. You would be better served employing this rationale on the official 2K forums.
Some people have their reasons for buying the game and some of us have our reasons for not buying it (the protection scheme being my reason).

there are also problems with legal copies so..its not a solution .
the only piece that working well right now is the demo rofl. |

Completed it a while ago, quite a good and rather unique experience that also took quite a while to complete, especially since it's basically a rather linear FPS but I estimate I spent around 2 - 3 hours per area searching around to find all hidden audio logs and other items, probably about 18 - 19 hours of playtime all in all.
(Multiple endings and ok story so I'll probably replay it as a harvester next time, should probably go from medium to hard as well due to the relatively low difficulty mainly caused by the large amount of Vita chambers.)
Some screens, some of the scenes in this game are quite brutal.

2K Games also says in its FAQ:
SecuROM does not fingerprint the hardware [of the computer running Bioshock].

You won't have to reactivate unless you change several pieces of hardware and this will count as one of your 5 allowed computers, if reactivation is required.
Um... If SecuROM doesn't fingerprint my hardware, what is the "machine ID" that a hash is taken of and sent to their servers? And how the hell is it possible that changing several pieces of hardware might result in a required reactivation? The simple answer is, of course, that SecuROM does fingerprint your hardware, and 2K Games lied to our faces in the hopes that computer users who aren't as savvy as us won't get bogged down with the technical details and just read the part where they say that it doesn't fingerprint the hardware.
This is totally inexcusable, and I won't have anything to do with this company. Will the game be cool? Maybe, but nothing is cool enough to install this crap on my computer for. As far as I'm concerned, 2K Games has destroyed its credibility, and they can go to hell for it."
