So you say Wink
Go play System Shock 2 then, and get out of this thread. Why are you here? You obviously would rather be playing System Shock 2, right? and not looking for a Bio release.

I REALLY get confused by people who come into threads for a game then slate it.. It is so annoying and lame, no one within this thread dislikes the game so why would coming in and flaming it do anything other than start a flame war? :/ i mean cmon man.. If you dont like a game.. dont post about it, specially not in the thread where everyones buzzing about it. Just go spam gamespot forums with fanboys for that stuff! Saves the mods having to edit and mess with threads.

BTW, just tried preloading this on steam but its not working, as if the button is useless. Have they stopped accepting peoples preloads or what?

IMO...

The protection goodies have caught right up with the cracker baddies.. and are currently on the verge, if not treading a step ahead.

I think the only way this is gonna work is if scene rules are altered. Its as if we have reached a new level of protection, and the scene rules just can't be justified anymore.

Ive given in already and am buying Bioshock tomorrow. Steam or DVD im unsure, depends if i can wait tomorrow out or not i guess (activation on steam is 9pm.)

I can see future games protection taking note (hey it wasnt cracked before retail street date, thats instantly a win over piracy right?).

I totally agree with you on the scene rules. This situation reminds me of the Half-Life2 release (a lot of semi working releases and also some which just didn't work!). I ended up getting the The Collector's editon by provision (the one that included Cs source & HL1 source) and it worked just fine (have played through both HL1 source & Hl2 several times). Anyway, I remember Provison getting a lot of flak for the release because of the way they fixed it, which imho was total BS! I mean, if it works without unpluggin drives and whatnot I'm happy, and every one should be, cause it's free!
But I do see a point in having some kind of rules in order to weed out all those fake and nonworking releases. So I hope that in the future the fine scene groups will make some changes to the rules set, so things like working steam rips will be accepted (have tried several that worked just fine)

Made by the same company (Irrational), and served as a basis for the design of bioshock. Bioshock name is also based on System shock, and everbody but you knows its the "spiritual successor" of system shock.

how so? the only areas where ss2 trumps bs in my oppinion are level design and the less simplified feel (which is only superificial, as bis is slightly more complex).

anyway, game seems kinda unstable on my machine. got a bluescreen when leaving the demo area, then a crash when i was about to grab telekinesis in medical.... meh.

Nice, now I have to think hard about buying it. My only concern was that 2 instal limit, as I do change hardware quite a bit. Now it's high enough for me as long as I might play it. That "revoke application" sounds cool too, wonder if it's any use for crackers, by makeing it in to a application that activates bioshock Razz

So is it less scary and less dark than SS2? (those who have the full game). LCD doesn't like pitch black games and I don't like to jump in my chair Smile Demo had enough lights in most parts (well not the end, but that was the point) and my heart didn't jump to my throat.

2nd problem is to either order it abroad and save 10euro+postage or buy it here and get it faster (and maybe even with a steelcase), but that would cost 63$+postage.

maybe some scene rules you forgot being as you played through hl1:s and hl2 several times Wink

DEViANCE

We do this for FUN. We are against any profit or commercialisation of
piracy. We do not spread any release, others do that. We do NOT want
our nfo or release listed on any public place like websites, P2P
netorks, newsgroups, etc! It is against the original scene rules!
In fact, we BUY all our own games with our own hard earned and worked
for efforts. Which is from our own real life non-scene jobs. As we
love game originals. Nothing beats a quality original. Support the
software companies. If you like this game BUY it! We did!

So just took a break from playing the game & wanted to share my experience in the last hour or so. Also I highly recommend to play it on the hardest setting then you will see you are forced to use your head to figure out how to take out certain opponents. Anyway one example of this in one of the levels I noticed alot of big daddy's & I got the plasmid to mind control them so I mind controled one shot the other & ran around the corner & hide while my big brother bodyguard took out the other & man that was one of the best experiences in a FPS ever the freedom to tackle certain situations is pretty deep on the hard setting. hack security camera's bots etc to cover the rear of any enemies you might of missed. Anyway this game deserves our money & I think most of you will be waiting a while for a working release. Just my 2 cents that quality gaming deserves our funds.

So if we dont love a game 100 we should just shut up ???

So on that logic review sites should ONLY review games they give 10/10 ?

System shock 2 was a LOT slower pace than this game.... and it had more of a rpgish feel...

The non death system is a bit of a joke

No fear of death in a horror style game is stupid imho
