Hello,
I have a HP 1100a Laserjet printer with the scanner atachment. Everything worked under Windows XP. I have since installed Vista and now the scanner software does not work. I know that this is an old printer but it is very practical and really suits my needs. I have my HP 1100a connected to a print server and would like to get back the scanner functionality. I have been looking all over the internet for a third party scanner software but I am unsuccessful. Does anyone know of good third party scanner software? Thank you.

bad news: Scanner not compatible with Vista.

good solution: Get another harddrive..a huge one,400GB around..then install vista there and install XP on ya ol' or bigger Harddrive, then whenever ya need to use the scanner, boot up XP,then when ya done, use Vista.

You need less than 2GB to install xp on another partition. Wink

How about putting VMWare or Microsoft Virtual PC on Vista and installing XP virtually and accessing printer?

Should be possible. Set the VM to accept USB devices and try that.
