dx10.1 games will be compatible with dx10.0 and i'm sure there will be no evident difference. Moreover before seeing a dx10.1 game will pass 2 years.

i have an 8800, and i couldnt be happier... as im sure pretty much ALL 8800 owners are... this IS the way of technology you know... shit does get outdated... new cards that take advantage of 10.1 features will too be obsolete within a year as well, when new features are avaliable that THOSE cards cant provide... yeah if you could see the look on 8800 owners faces, theyd be all smiles because the card is pretty fucking sweet.

I had fun with it for 8 months now, and will not cry when SP1 comes out.

Quote: | Microsoft's DirectX lead program manager has set the record straight on reports that DX10.1 will render the current crop of DX10-compatible hardware "obsolete."
Microsoft's Sam Glassenberg told Next-Gen in a phone interview, "DX10.1 fully supports DX10 hardware. No hardware support is being removed....It's strictly a superset. It's basically an update to DX10 that extends the hardware functionality slightly."
He said that the update is similar to what Microsoft did with DX9. "We did make updates to [DX9] that extended the supported feature set.
"All the hardware is still supported, all the games still run, all the features are still there, we've just simply extended the feature set and the lifetime of the API," he said.
