I dunno, I haven't been following BioShock, mainly because everyone hyped it as a spiritual successor to System Shock. Not having played those games (or rather, not having enjoyed them) I wasn't to keen on trying this. After that demo though, I'd hurt myself if I didn't at least rent it. The game is gorgeous, and the atmosphere they've created is phenomenal! Those Little Sisters creep me the fuck out, and the first time you see one, just before it starts to harvest your ADAM was just too weird! I seriously felt paralyzed, hammering on buttons hoping he'd get up and run like those slicers did. And I'm not usually one to cringe at the sight of a needle, but after my wife's epidural, well....ugh.
This looks to be a pretty great experience! I just hope I have the nerves to survive it

I guess a major part of enjoying this game is how easily you can immerse yourself in it's atmosphere. I feel sorry for those people who can't.
For me even the demo was a fantastic experience.

the graphics were really stunning, but the combat left me a little cold, the trailer at the end shows more but I just wasn't into the combat. The experience was good though, immersive.

I kinda knew it wasn't a cutscene with the way there were water droplets on the screen, but still, that transition was near flawless. I can't believe how good everything looked! I loved that part in the walkway when the plane fuselage comes crashing through and you have to run through the wreckage while water is pouring in everywhere, shit's blowing up around you and your thinking "fuck I don't wanna diieeeeeee!"
Or the way water blurs your vision as you run under a waterfall. So many little touches like that...well, suffice to say the game is pretty. Combat will probably be really awesome when you start getting more plasmids and stuff. Oddly I've been so absorbed by Bioshock, I actually dreamt I was in Rapture last night, lol!

An american who went into a Toys R Us store to find that they were selling Bioshock before the release date, though only the 360 versions.
