Here it goes... I wanted to install vista on a disk where my ubuntu is. So I wanted to see if I can, anyhow, uninstall it, and see if there is some help file in ubuntu that says how to do it. When GRUB asked me to go to ubuntu I pressed ubuntu nice and easy, but the mofo freezed... So I decided to erease it from windows disk menager, and I did. Of course the disk wasn't visible from my computer, so I restarted the computer, hoping now windows will be able to reckognise it (I was little surprised why I couldn't format it to ntfs right away from windows). What happened... first he said grub error 21, 22 and now 17, and he won't let the windows load... Is there a way to make windows work (without formating the whole thing)?

Boot the Vista install dvd and go to repair, if it doesn't automatically fix it go to the command prompt and enter: fixmbr
You can then re-install grub which should detect both operating systems (check out the ubuntu alternate install method).

Well I formated my disk, using fdisk because I couldn't acces him anymore. But now I have 64, 5 GB of 80 GB. I know I should have 75, or so... but 65GB?! How do I get them back?

The read-out on the FDisk #4 option isn't always accurate.... Just so you know! I had the same problem with a 120GB HD that i was working on not too long ago... Format the HD and put the OS on it and after all said and done... you will have the total amount of the HD listed...

I've installed Vista, went to disk management and he found missing 10 GB of space... How can I merge (or sth) that unallocated part of disc with the one Vista is on, without messing everything?
