I dont play MMO games for the simple fact that i dont wanna loose my life,i have
trouble enough with stopping playing sp games and multiplayer games,way too
addicting.

Whats the point of something that never ends...ever....well you will die one day and thats a fact. But MMORPG's will go on and on...makes me sad in a way Sad

My Son gave up WOW like 4 times now...but hes back in the saddle, why...

Just to clear up something that I saw on the 1st page. TDU was never meant to be an MMO. On the back of the cover actually, it says MOOR. Which looks like MMO, so clever marketing stunt done there.

MOOR stands for Massively Open Online Racing, which stands for the sheer amount of roads you can drive in, not the amount of players you encounter at any given time, which, if you're lucky due to the game's stupid netcode, are 8.

I mainly hate the crappy combat system of most mmorpgs... why am I not allowed to simply take a step to the side and thus dodge an arrow? If combat was more FPS-style or even just D2 style I would consider playing some WoW or something. Probably not though Razz

There is this new expansion coming for WoW, raises caps to level 80 nd stuff. This will suck for all those players who spent months to get the best gear possible, and with the release of the next expansion it's just gonna be crap again.

I'll never start playing that PoS game.

I liked Everquest.... never stuck to any other MMORPG. . . may have been because it was the first one I really tried. I beta tested Ultima Online but it was CRAAAAAP druing the test and I never got over it.
I absolutely detested WOW and it's community. Gave it 2 chances... just couldn't make myself come close to liking it. To each his own.

Me either... then it is called an action game with RPG elements.
I would rather have some different combat system than what we are seeing... hoping Conan Online is different somehow.

i kinda hate any mmo that keeps me bored, and i especcially hate GRINDING!
and excactly i hate the combat system thats currently in most mmo-s it requires just the ability to click and i personally find that TEH BORING!

id like a good Action mmo, where you have straight control over the combat, like in Jedi Academy (remember the Lightsaber combat?) youuu get my point right? the type that keeps you occupied (tho not suck away all "REAL LIFE") and something PG-17, or M rated... limbs flying, and GORE!!!! and more so to keep the 13 yr olds away (no offence 13 yr olds, but you suck! and yes, i sucked when i was 13 too)

It's because it hasn't been a successfully made MMOFPS yet. It takes a lot of smarts to create a game like that.
They had like the best idea of an MMO/FPS here http://www.twilightwar.com/ but they failed financially, as a lot of them do, and then the Koreans took it over...

And people who think that we don't have the technology for MMOFPS games yet should check out WWII Online.

So, therefore the gaming companies sticks to the ideas that works and sells. Like the WOW-genre.

Oh, permadeath. Or at least Permadeath enabled servers. I'm fucking serious. Yah, lag death would suck, maybe have a ping check when you log into the server "WARNING: Your ping exceeds recommended levels for this server. Any death as a result of lag is your own responsibility".

God damn I wish I had the financial backing and knowledge to build an MMO. Sad

I would favor a perma-death game. Thats what made Nethack so friggin fun and challenging.

go check out PlanetSide if you haven't it is a mmofps from sony released in 2002 but there are still many people playing it.. great game! i have been playing it for 4 years already and i enjoy it everytime i play Smile

I don't hate MMO's really but here is some of the issues i have with it.

1. When i pay for a game i don't expect to pay a monthly fee on top of that just to be able to play it.

2. For some reason the game developers have got it in their minds that all RPG supporters love MMOs and basicly they have stopped making (good) RPGs (single player that is)

There is more but thats two reasons.
