starcraft 2 seems kinda unicorn like right now... but thats what would probably make it even more sweeter...

/me dreams of a day... blizzard suddenly appears with a news out of the blue "in a week we are releasing Starcraft 2: Awesomeness returns"...
and that will be the day the earth will end... tears of joy from all the geeks/nerds, starcraft fans and blizzard fanboys will cover the planet in a salty wave...

Since my old town was burned down and things just got too crazy to rebuild, i was forced to move to another city but unfortunatly never managed to find work there. I have been in this business since 1996 and sometimes keep prisoners in cages... if for some reason i am turned evil. I really hope you can find me a good place to work at since many travelers are just dying for my crafts. I Rule.

Blast from the past!

Well with Blizzcon coming up, people have been snooping around and found out that, like the Starcraft2.com domain were prepped and launched with international subdomains, the Diablo.com domain has also been prepped with same subdomains:
us.diablo.com and it's other subdomains now all redirect to the blizzcon website.

We also know that Blizzard were working on 2 unannounced projects (Hydra and Medusa), Medusa was Starcraft 2, and Hydra is likely Diablo.

I believe its more likely that a WoW expansion will be announced. or perhaps both diablo and a wow expansion.

It's already been confirmed that they will announce a new game, and we will also hear about the expansion soon which also could mean we will hear about it on Blizzcon.

But one thing is certain, on Blizzcon they will announce a game that is neither Starcraft 2 or the new WoW Expansion, that much can be said for certain.

Plus they also announce in the battle.net news that they will give out beta-keys to a yet-to-be-announced project at blizzcon, which means this game is in a fairly advanced state already.

As far as I am concerned they could just take Diablo 2, slap a new graphics engine on it and leave everything else the way it is/was. Still an awesome game but the graphics just make my eyes tear...

It is made by the same guys that worked on Diablo I and Diablo II and some of the lead programmers from World Of Warcraft... Rolling Eyes

I had it on pretty good authority over a year ago that Diablo III was being worked on... conversation with this person went into how they are looking at pets... pets as in having a class that can use pets... unlike the Necromancer, I was told they were trying to make the pets of said classes more involved. the way i got into this conversation was about Fable and how I thought the pets in that game were pretty fun. People can be full of crap sometimes, but this person seemed to know what they were talking about... if it is announced than I guess he was on the up and up. From what he said, they had been working on it for quite a while and, like I said, this was over a year ago. Also mentioned the year 2008. Take it for what it's worth.

It's possible DIII will be announced, but wouldn't they oversaturate the market, driving some of their own customers to choose one or the other, if they released DIII and SC2 in the same timeframe? I mean, the wow expansion is just by the way, the real buzz is from these two games, and I think that they'll be released at least a year apart, so 2008 seems to make sense, if they drop SC2 in q4 2007 and D3 in Q3-4 2008.

I sure as hell would, SC if it's the real starcraft aura I'll buy it no doubt, DIII it has to retain that...addictive boring hack n slash play it did years ago. I dunno what about the Online play DII had but god it was addictive and fun. I think it was all about the unique, rare's and set items people wanted to collect, you don't find that in any other game anymore, like GW could use a system like that but noooo, gotta craft everything that takes a bunch of time to get then you salvage it for SHIT when you want to get new armor, the weapons are bland as hell. Titan quest......was...boring. It would have been cool had the fighting been more...exaggerated and RAWRish but it was just too slow.

Exactly! Diablo had those quick fierce fights that no action-rpg had since then. Not Dungeon Siege and not Titan Quest. Lets hope for the best at the blizzcon Very Happy

They actually sent out a World of Warcraft survey, it was about StarCraft 2 and if you would stop playing WoW, or if you would play StarCraft 2 more, or whatever.

So i guess they do have some plans for not saturating the market, but hey i could dig playing WoW, Diablo and Then Starcraft, then i just need a FPS as well and we don't have to play anything else for a couple of years Razz

I would like to see Diablo 2, just bigger, better, more. It needs just a little polishing, better graphics etc. More interesting maps perhaps. I hated Kurast in Diablo 2, must have been the most boring map ever. Desert was cool however.

More freedom would be good too. Although I guess being restricted to each area in a linear sequence gave it more focus.
