every so often when im downloading on my router the net disconnects then reconnects maybe due to net overflow is there any setting i can do to change that im useing a d-link dsl-504t router

What are you downloading with? Some ISP's throttle your connection or even disconnect when they see you downloading like with torrents. If that's the case then use a client that supports encryption

Still assuming your downloading with torrents go into your settings and set the max connections to like 4, my internet would get all screwy when having more than that set.

Have your downloaded and installed the latest firmware for it?

well this is a new router and it has the latest firmware and they have never disconnected me before with torrents when i had my old router

dont worry it is not crashing anymore i guess the ports werent open and it was crashing it because of that i guess i donno

ok now im having DHCP errors in the lease time is there a way to stop that every like 3600 seconds it gives me a new ip address like i have the address 10.1.1.3 then when it renews it makes it 10.1.1.4 when i have already opened ports on 10.1.1.3 i mean i could set the limit really high but is there anyway entirely i could stop it

can you help me with that i have searched on google and i cant find any docs to tell me where port aggression or port trunking is and disabling spanning tree algorithm i looked on my router but i cant find any options my router is a d-link DSL-504T

I'll see what I can find, routers are at the bottom of my list that I know anything about, which is near nothing other than what I know about my own, I'm just using google to help you find answers, I'm sure if Rinze see's this and has time he'll help out a bit, he seems good with this shit.

i have fixed the issue i have put static ip addresses and it seemed to work if i have any more problems i will tell you
