I think this is what you are looking for

Quote: | install Halo 2 using the abcba loader and get it configured and running on XP (there's plenty of info on this on the net, use google)
download and install Process Monitor (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/FileAndDisk/processmonitor.mspx)
play the game until you get to the gravemind level, as the level tries to load you will get the message "Sorry, insert you original Halo 2 disk"
(inserting either the original or any other disk does nothing since the drive is never accessed).
close and restart the game and let it get to the main menu screen.
hit the windows key on the keyboard to minimize the game and open process monitor, let it run and monitor processes (the list wil fill rapidly).
Click on the Halo 2 icon in the taskbar to re-maximize the game.
click on "Campaign". Do not resume, select new and then select the gravemind level.
Let it load (It will take awile because process monitor is slowing it down). Don't wory about missing the intro Video, once the level loads, it can be restarted from within the level.
Once it loads and starts, (wait for the intro to finish) minimize with the windows key again and close the Process monitor.
Re-maximize the level, hit the escape key and select restart the level (if you want to see the intro again). The level can be reloaded from checkpoints as long as you are within the level, if you quit the level for any reason, you will have to run the Process Monitor again while the level loads.
You can load a saved checkpoint in this manner, so you don't have to complete the level at one sitting.

How come you guys are still talking about this old ass game with the most cheesey enemies seen in a video game ever? I mean it's supposed to be a serious game/story yet the enemies make it come across more like Giants Citizen Kabuto which was a comedy game.

I was just about to ask you why you say it as if H1 and H2 on PC were "shite" but H3 is a masterpiece, but then I saw your "..." (Did you edit it in later?)

It was the character design of the enemies that put me off from the start, they look childish and the way they make those stupid screams when they die so the sound design including the voice acting just makes me cringe too. Not to mention the fisher price toys they have for weapons. Dont get me wrong im not all for super serious games and the multiplayer part was fun back in the day, but gaming has moved on since and they just took the Piss with the Halo series by keeping the toy like look of it.

Well I think every first-person shooter is at least somewhat playable, as long it's not some amateur project made with 500 dollars of budget. I also like the SF feeling in Halo, but that crappy fov of 70 degrees is complete disaster (i'm playing in 1280x1024 so it is even worse). Both games are far from great, especially comparing them to other PC classics, but they are defenitely above the rock-bottom class. Hell, I even played Unreal 2 just because of generic SF yey-we-are-on-some-god-forsaken-planet atmosphere...
