September 11, 2007 - Today Activision announced a collector's edition of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be available at launch for the Xbox 360 and PC. Your reward for shelling out a few extra bucks for the special edition includes a hardcover artwork book, plus bonus items exclusive to the 360 and PC.
First off, the hardcover book in question is filled with concept and final artwork from the game's design team, including plenty of never-before-seen imagery.
The 360 version will be boasting a behind-the-scenes DVD with over four hours of interviews with the creators of CoD4, features, a documentary following the British S.A.S from World War II to modern day, and an array of "making of" episodes showcasing the research and technology developer Infinity Ward put into the game.
PC players, in addition to the art book, will be receiving a digital copy of the BradyGAMES Official Strategy Guide.
The myriad versions of Call of Duty 4 will be shipping November 5.

I don't get it. A full making-of DVD for the X360, and a strategy guide for PC? Meh. I'd rather have the making-of than the walkthrough-in-a-beautiful-full-of-pictures-magazine-like-thing.

didnt cod4 was meant to be pc only ? when releasing cod3 activision said that one year for consoles and one year for pc......so why xboxers are getting this ???

Sorry if this has been mentioned but are they going to do a PC demo?

What's with all those "perks"?
Martyrdom - Drop live grenade when killed. Yea, great idea, as if there's not enough C4/Grenade spamming in FPS games already. Let's make it a selectable skill to ensure you always get one off automatically.
Last Stand - Extra health + pistol rape after death. Ok.....
This title might just make Teamfortress 2 look realistic heh.

martyrdom is just so when someone goes to tbag your dead corpse (it happens a lot in console shooters) they get blown up by your grenade

Several COD community members has expressed that the essence of COD is in the game which both includes the good old multiplayer and frantic singleplayer missions, its funny how you openly discriminate a game which a) You havent played before & b) the only example you have in these days are BF series which of course dont have anything to do with the type of FPS COD is.

Have you played the Beta? To select those kinds of perks you have to give up other advantages, such as carrying an RPG on your back, or a under barrel grenade launcher for your assault rifle.
It works really well, I can't say for the Martyrdom perk, but for the Last Stand one the difference it makes is minimal, all the attacker has to do is put a couple of extra rounds in you when you drop. It also only comes into play if you're put down by wounding shots i.e outer torso and leg shots. Isn't it realistic that that an individual wouldn't be instantly killed unless they're shot in the head/heart?

A PC demo for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be available this Wednesday at 09:00AM PST. the game promises to arm gamers with the most advanced and powerful arsenal of modern day firepower to fight a new war in the world’s most treacherous hotspots. The game will be released on November 6th.
