Been playing this game hardcore, an well, it's perfect, you don't have to build anything, which is something very different for an RTS game, i normally play SupCom or CnC3, though, not so much of the latter at the moment, but none the less, this is a fantastic game,

Peace V.H.

It is a great thing that this game gets the attention it deserves.
After the 2 masterpiece games that were Ground Control 1 and 2, World in Conflict seems to be the first that is properly hyped, and rightfully so.
I'm sure the single player campaign will be just as awesome as the multiplayer.

I hope so Razz
I read somewhere that they would heavily rely on time limited missions/objectives in SP mode to keep the pace: i.e. everything that i hate. Can you tell us a little more on how the SP mode will work?

that's how he knows, at least that's what he says, who knows if it's true or not Smile

anyway... the single player campagins of the ground control games were great fun so I'd expect this to be similar to those games' campaigns while making it more action packed like the multiplayer mode.

Great game. I've previously downloaded closed beta, but didn't played it. Now i've downloaded open beta and tried it, it's excellent. I've only played tutorial and i'm amased.
I am 100% not going to play in multiplayer because i had some troubles with gfx, and by the time i upgrade my pc, the beta will end.
So, if anyone wants the serial, you can get it on PM.

the main thing I love about the game is that it's finally an RTS that uses WASD movement.. about time too Very Happy it sacrifices some hotkeys but since you dont build your units/buildings in this game it's all good

GC2 uses the same controls like WiC and it's a great game. One of the most underrated RTS. Try it!

Too simplistic in my opinion.

In the limited domination mode the key to TA points - and subsequently nuclear obliteration - is simple:

Max out one unit type and go after what it counters. You should score a minimum of 80 TA every time.

Ex. 5 Heavy Helos and Rape Tanks
6 Medium Helos and Rape Heavy Helos
4 Heavy AA and Rape All Helos

Beautiful fucking engine with amazing level of detail (and most amazing nuclear detonation ever) but not really much "strategy" to it at all. Still is fun in short bursts though.

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Yes - but if the enemy is good, they wont give you the chance of raping their forces. Just like with any other game.

yeah.. it's simple to kick some noob asses as they just charge in with whatever they have and you can pick em off easily.

But what do you do if there are 2 or 3 friends/clanmates/whatever together on one team who support each other? Makes it a lot harder

Try taking down those heavy tanks when they got heavy attack helicopters and 4 or 5 heavy AA backing them up, not so simple anymore then.

It's just like all other online games like Battlefield, CounterStrike and whatnot.
As long as you play on a simple public server you can kick some serious ass even if you're alone as long as you know what you're doing, but the real challenge and tactics only comes in when you play 5on5 clan matches and stuff like that, and that's what WiC is going for I believe.
They really want this to become the next big esports title.

youve only played domination maps though? maybe domination is suposed to be simple and fun but the other types of gamplay are a little more challenging?
