Supcom's ram usage issues require modifying your boot.ini to fix on XP. On Vista I believe it's just a simple command prompt.
GPGNet is horrid at best, most developers learned years ago that you DO NOT USE WEB BROWSERS FOR MULTIPLAYER GAMES. DX10 Support was cut after they got their sales.
The game has an enormous amount of bugs related to their physics system (bombs not dropping correctly, artillery not firing correctly or at all in some cases). But yea, I'm sure a "better computer" fixes all of these. I tried to like SupCom, but too many broken promises ruined it.
Either way, World in Conflict is very fun, I just hope there are more options as far as multiplayer gameplay goes in the full game. The way the large matches play doesn't feel like an RTS, very fast paced. Very enjoyable.

Firstly make sure you are using medium attack choppers to missle target other choppers, secondly, if your moving all your air units heavy chooper+medium chopper, hold Shift + R which toggles there attacks, so it changes to air missle, then hold E an click the enemy chopper, but if you have a few medium choppers you can hold E an keep pressing left mouse button until all your medium choopers have distbursed all there air-to-air misslles,

..also, try and stay behind your ground units with your choppers. Wait for the enemy choppers to attack your ground vehicles before you make your move. That way you are 100% sure to get the first hits. (can be quite crucial)

thanks for the holding E tip 
the special attacks worked for me during the tutorial and everything, but when I actually got into a game I never saw my medium choppers fire missiles after I tell them to..
my heavy chopper however, did fire it's missile against an enemy tank, so I dono what I was doing wrong with my medium choppers 
maybe it was just because I only played it for like 10 minutes last night... stayed up till the dl finished but got too sleepy to play it 
gona try it again tonight when I get home.

Never had any problem whatsoever with SupCom nor with WiC. I must also admit that I think SupCom is one of the best if not the best RTS in a long long time. Those god-damned fast paced rts are taking the fun out of the game.
Note to self: come up with a good sig.
