Using a Scythe Ninja, as the Infinity was WAY TO BIG for my mobo (EVGA 680i) If its quiet...well to be honest I dont have a clue as i have like 3 case fans (Lian-Li) and the 8800GTX pumping.

42°C under load sounds like...well whatever.

Well I guess the Infinity is the right thing.

What is weird though is you guys seem to overclock the E6600 not as much as I can, and hell, I can o/c it at 3,45GHz stable with my poor Intel fan (2000rpm, which is noisy).

So the thing is, I don't want something quiet just to keep it at 3,45Ghz but I wanna try to o/c it at 3,6Ghz with smthg quiet Smile

No, neither of those are the best top air cooled solutions nowadays..they are good but not the best. The best performing cooler is the Heatpipe tower Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme and the seconded it's the Tuniq Tower. Do your research and try to look for the thermalright and you will see that it really is the top cooler for the Intel processors.

Yeah take either the Thermalright Ultra-120 or its extreme edition, maybe have a look at the latest Thermalright IFX 14 if you find good reviews and that it is compatible with your motherboard.
