|

Source: www.megagames.com
Dead or Alive is one of the most successful fighting series ever, and now it is finally coming to PC. Complete with its "jiggly" physics!
Dead Or Alive Online will be developed by Tecmo's online game development studio Lievo Studio, and China-based developer Shanda Interactive will provide its online game-related experiences and technologies to assist development. The game is expected "before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games", according to Tecmo.
"The Dead or Alive series is one of the most popular fighting franchises created, and it is a great honour for Shanda to partner on the game's online version. DOA ONLINE will be developed on both PC and Shanda's EZ Platform. Its gamepad support will deliver to users a fantastic console gaming experience," said Shanda boss Tianqiao Chen. "By leveraging our strong operating platform and advanced come-stay-pay revenue model, we are confident that DOA Online has the potential to achieve great success in China. In the future, the two parties will continue to actively seek cooperative opportunities in online entertainment-related fields."
"DOA Online is not a simple replant from the console platform to the PC platform. It is a completely new game featuring the characteristics of a PC online game. We are confident that the game will become one of the most successful online games in China", said Tecmo president Yoshimi Yasuda.
"As China's largest online game company, we believe Shanda is the best partner of Tecmo's global game platform Lievo in China. Additionally, we have the technical capability and actual achievement to implement worldwide online fighting matches in our competitive fighting game for the console platform. Combining Tecmo's strong video game development and designing experience, and Shanda's expertise in online game operation, we are confident that our future cooperation will be a highly successful one", he added.
mmm, me like!!!
Now bring us MK also!!

Well have fun. It's not the same game as on the consoles. + It's only Chinese to begin with.
Screens.

Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

I bet they won't even release it in western countries. It'd sell like shit if they did anyway.

This isn't going to be a 1-on-1 fighting game like on the consoles. Expect a dumb MMORPG-type thing, not unlike other "cutesy" Korean and Chinese MMORPGs, if it comes out at all.

Beat em ups sell like crap on the PC, they'd never do a straight port.

imagine how sweet it'd be if they made a fighting game for nextgen pc's rather than just regurgitating console crap... how visually sweet would that be.. but if they did bring fighters back o pc, id hope it'd be mortal kombat... mk used to be strong on the pc, and those midway f**ksticks abandoned us... and to think i actually bought all the pc mk games, those fricken traitors...

it would be nice to have something like soul calibur or doa on the pc, with lan/internet play. i was quite dissapointed that guilty gear x2 had no options like that.

We want boobies FFS!
...
Meh, not really. I'd be damned if anything DOA- or Tekken-like ever came to the PC in a decent version.
By their description of DOA Online it sounds like an MMO. Beats me how the hell DOA could ever become an MMO (Quest #123: Get that girl to jiggle her titties). A regular DOA with online capabilities would be nice, but I've always read up to now that a game that requires such quick reflexes and constant low pings wouldn't be possible right now.
