The Unleashed version may be working fine, but you got to respect Hatred for doing this "by the book". Their nfo shows the work they've put into this (finally a non-securom release !) and they were mature enough not to start flaming just because they got lucky with online play.

Whether or not Valve blocks online play in the future is irrelevant.

They hardly started shit with anyone. Point your fingers at the arrogance of Vitality and the stupidity of TNT Wink anywho, that's off topic, take that convo up in the scene related chat.

Anyone know when the new nvidia drivers come out since the buttfucks messed up the beta ones?

Well, if you assume that valve will block it (They probably will do it as always), the reason only has disadvantages if you compare it to unl release.

Damn...haven't seen you in a long time lol. Must make a mental note to rejoin hi2u2 lol. Anywho the game ships with DX9 and DX10. DX9 version works on both OS's and if you have a DX10 card and vista, well, you get the extra eye candy

They won't just block online play, their whole rls is a steam crack, so they can block the entire thing!

* Windows XP / Vista with Direct X9.0c
* Intel Pentium 4 HT / AMD Athlon 64 3500+ or greater
* 512MB RAM (XP) / 1GB RAM (Vista)
* 8GB Hard Drive Space
* DVD-ROM Drive (DVD9 compatible)
* 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or equivalent (DirectX 9.0c + Shader3.0 compatible)
* DirectSound compatible Sound Card
* Mouse and Keyboard
* Note: NVIDIA Geforce 7300 is not supported.

It requires SSE2 it seems, since Athlon XP isn't supported.

Laughing The game is so intensive. Even if you manage to run it on such a CPU, it will crawl.

its a miracle they even support single cores, as the 360 has 3 cores should be X2 minimum and people think non sse2 can do the work done.

no, the game's engine was coded to run it. So if your on anything earlier than a P4 or an AMD 64, your out of luck

btw, the hatred release fucking sucks ass. Use unleashed's

Not sure if you're playing this in DX10 or 9, but 162.15 for XP is working great with this game for me.

The official drivers are 158.22. They cause crashes and lock ups for me, get the 162.15 drivers installed.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Update Released
July 6, 2007, 2:12 pm - Jason Ruymen

Updates to Lost Planet: Extreme Condition have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

* Enabled offline mode for singleplayer games

Source: http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=news&id=1118

I'm not sure why unleashed would release this as it was already like that.
