I guess it depends on how social you are. Personally I like the fact that going to watch a movie at the cinema is more of an event then sitting on your sofa and watching it on a normal TV.
Granted some people have huge projectors to watch their movies on, but it's never as large as a cinema's.

Indeed AnimalMother. I have a home theatre, but some movies are just greater at cinemas.
ELIZ: That is why you go to the toilet before the movie starts to avoid it
However sometimes you have: people talking, making noises, eating potato chips and rattling their chips bags and whatnot, morons putting their feet at the back of your seat, etc.
So no doubt in my mind that home theatre > cinemas, but a few movies are worth watching at the cinema for the experience.

The thing is I kinda like that, where you're aware of the other people in the cinema to a certain extent. It's especially funny where someone has an extreme reaction to a part in a film that you just shrug off.
But being near a true asshole in a cinema can essentially ruin the film for you. The risk of that happening is all part of the cinema experience though in my opinion.

I agree with that sentiment. I was watching Saw in one of those luxury rooms in cinema (space for about 50 people). If you have seen the movie you know there is a particular scary moment when one of the guys is going around in his apartment with his camera and using his blitz. The whole audience gasped when that happened
adslmaster wrote: | Other bad point of cinema is the cost, its about £6 UK to see a film never mind petrol getting their and maybe having to wait in line to get in, and for some like us in UK the wait for the film is too long this film isnt out until 27th July UK but 4th of July most other countries. |
Premiere movies here in Norway are £7.5, but I would not say that is expensive. If you have a great experience it is totally worth it. Waiting in line? That doesn't exist here, not even on premiere movies - and there are a lot of people who go to the cinema in my city.
By the way, I think the screenshots from the cam speaks for themselves. I'd rather cut out my eyes than watch a crappy cam.

I said to myself that I would watch this one on a theater, but after the awesome cam's out tonight and the reviews claming that this is the best comic-book based movie ever, I just can't go to sleep without watching it, I'm awake since sunday 6 AM worked 12 hours sunday and 10 hours today, my eyes are turning red, but 15 minutes from now I'm watching it, that's it.
