Don't know how half of it works, but still managed to be best in some parts, n00b power! That 0% accurancy is something to be proud xD Won't be bying it, but it was fun for a while. Now that I was more inmiddle of the action I see what few said about the speed. 1 vs.1 battles seem more about luck than skill, as players move quite fast. At least with that lightning gun I was the one usually dead. Maybe the weapon balance is still a bit off?

Nah, this game has as much luck with the aim as the rest of them, meaning not a lot.
I'd say it has about the same bullet spread as 2142 though the movement speed is faster in this game seems like, so it probably demands even more aiming skills.
Though you don't need to much aim to shine in this game, as long as you know what you're doing.

And yes, since this is the beta I can guarantee you that weapon balancing is off and that it will be adjusted later.

Balancing and I believe it's got an older version of the hit box detection.

Apparently they're fixing some hit detection/hit box issues in a patch this week.

I for one don't have a lot of trouble killing people, but it's easy to see many shots that should be hitting are not registering. I mean, right now if you're under fire you can just run away.. which is silly, if the hit detection was spot on this would not be possible. (Unless the person in question really sucked of course...)

wow this game really grows on you.. the first couple of hours were confusing as shit and i didnt care much for the 30fps lock, but then i started learning how the different classes work etc and all the small details. i still cant remove the lock tho, i've tried a million different commands in the console, but to no avail. would like to have tripe that amount of fps for the close quarter fights =(

Don't know about a 30fps lock, didn't do anything and I was hitting 60fps.

And seems it's because of this:

"The defaults are to unlock the FPS, with a maxFPS of 60 and timing method 2. This basically means that if your system is fast enough to exceed 60fps all the time then it will do a constant 60fps. If your system isn't fast enough to exceed 60fps at all times then it will fluctuate between 30 and 60fps. Lower end systems may well be unable to exceed 30fps most of the time - for these people you are probably best off disabling unlockFPS and satisfying yourself with a smooth 30fps."

So overclock or lower settings Razz

No, that is just Enemy Territory.

If don't like that, then the game may not be for you..

A few mates and I have tried the beta expecting it to be a great game and have ended up cancelling our pre-orders. Very disappointing, not a bad game at all just not a great one, would give it like 80% if reviewing..

And please give us another map on beta! The sewer is too bloody small, and if it's one of the games smaller maps they've done a good job of putting ppl off by picking that one to test first..

Oh and if they don't let us test the other maps it's a glorified demo!

I'd also like to point out that this public beta isn't a one-off release - we intend to update it as we go along, incorporating fixes as well as bringing entirely new features online to help us test as many aspects of the game as possible. More about the first of these updates will be revealed in a future dev blog installment.

I have AMD athlon 2000+, 1 gb ddr ram, 6800XT 256mb ... playing on low details with 1024x768 is fine, some slowdowns in big firefights, but meh, quite playable Smile

Theres noticable flaws which are the ones you can tell well be fixed. The vehicle's seem more one sided mainly cause the strogg has that huge fucking mech. It's a lot faster paced than BF (only liked 1942). I like how the missions are setup and if you join in on a game where your team focuses on teamwork, it can be A LOT of fun. I was on one team for the humans were we all stuck together and while one of us would do the mission the others would cover you. I personally like it.

The game is great if you find a server with teamwork. If you have the bad luck ending up on a server where everyone thinks they're an one man army or the GDF think they have to "defend" (some guy actually pulled that yesterday) you will be bored to death.

However if you're a server where there's real teamwork (even better if there's teamwork on both sides) you will love it. At least I do, bigger firefights, harder fights and you really have to build turrets and what not.

As for the Vehicle I don't find them unbalanced actually. As for firearms I think the strogg has more advantage. All the firearms feels unbalanced actually in favor of strogg. Sad

I'm sure they'll be working on that. If it's one thing that's important in games like these is firearms balancing
