This game took a nose dive the day it came out...what an anti climax that was.

Well I am speaking only for me here of course. Just was disappointing seeing the game in action....compared to all the cool vids and screenies that was released prior to the release. But that's MY opinion. The game just looked and felt...well booring and bland.

I'd have to agree to some extend, but it was still unique for its amazing zoom mode (yes, little stupid things like that make Praetori happy) and hundreds of units on screen.

But you're right, it was rather bland. I guess I'm just easily amused with nifty new gadgetty features.

I burnt it onto 2 DVDs and left it on my spinner. I shall give it another go when I buy my new PC for my University move. Maybe then I'll manage to enjoy it.

Bad performance hindered my experience, but the scale of battles was something really nice.

ya I didn't really get into it either then again I didn't really give it a chance as I was tired and it was late when I tried it the few times, I'll reinstall it and give it another shot at some point.

So no addon, just SC 1.5. Sounds good for me, no need to search for those first discs and no gigantic instalation. Probably full price, but I think this guys deserve some support.

I'll buy this because Supreme Commander is the best rts to date, and it proves that you can target a niche audience; primarily fans of the original Total Annihilation and not just go for the widest target audience as possible which seems to be what everybody is striving for these days.

Oh but I am a RTS fan, this Supreme commander thingy is the type you can beat blindfolded and would be far better if the game played it self and you just watched. Most of the time you spend just directing a load of little dots from one place on the map to another and the rest in micromanagement. The strategy and tactical element is not really a necessity here and is more of a time waster rather than it having any type of practical result.
It's just nice little graphics with a few booms, pops, flashes and sparks thrown in for good measure.
The only game that stinks more is CnC. I think these games lost the plot when it came to RTS.

Epic is such a cliché word in game PR it's not funny.

Gone is the original meaning, which basically is: "Featuring a story that has been told and re-told by generations".

Strictly speaking, there are very few games that truly are "epic".

I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Awesome game, but whats the point of making an expansion when they STILL havent made the game work properly? Still get desyncs in every 2 games, still get crashes in every game with more than 4 players, or 4 players with alot of action.
Fix that, then make an expansion. I frankly regret buying the collectors edition and supporting the devs for a game i cant even play.. And dont blame it on vista, i can play EVERY other game just fine, but not this, which was even supposed to have dx10 support out of the box. (hence, work properly) The devs even told me that personally in the beta 1 week before it went gold. Nice lie right in my face.

The last "epic" game I played was Shadow of the Colossus, more than a year ago. Shows how easily they use the word.

You are NOT RTS fan.Period. And you don't know what strategy is...you heard about it somewhere, but have no clue what is it and how to use it.

In SC you always use tactical and strategic moves, IF you are not noob and you don't play against noobs.

Supreme Commander is NOT a micromanagement fest, it's more of a strategic thing. Overall, I do regret buying it though, as the only play is bad. Really bad. I'm talking outofgame web-based-browser bad. Disgraceful work from GPG, probably the only game I'll ever make the mistake of buying that they've made.
