@twingo: Nice arguing. Know what. Smartphones sell like crap as well. FFS this game doesn`t run on my Fucking Nokia N80! I am so pissed!
es Laptops sell like mad. Yes i own one myself. Most ppl still have a stationary PC at home simply because working on a 22/24 inch is so much more relaxing.

To sYn, in continuation to the splitting the PC games forum discussion, how about adding a new forum for kiddies with laptops (or smartphones Wink) who can't run games? Another forum for other kiddies to argue about optimization and vista only games (as well as dx10 being vista only).

Wink well put LeoNatan
Anyhow, this game is nothing really special in terms of game play, feels very Japanese somehow (maybe its the characters + the fact it was made there) Graphics and effects running the DX10 version is pretty stunning though. I will play some more levels and then I probably will get rid of it...no big hit, but amusing all the same.

yeah I agree, I think it's because of all the cut scenes embedded in the gameplay, like the metal gear series.

15. and the game gets boring after 5

I counted only 11

Game was fun. It wasn't boring, but the linearity annoyed me though. Would've been cool to choose your path at somepoint.Smile
I like cutscenes, especially if they are well done and the story makes sense in some level, but in this the story was little weak and you had some of those wtf moments.Very Happy

I was surprised with the decent performance on the demo with my low end rig.

A64 @ 2800
512MB @ 211
7300GT @ 820/900

1024x768

AAx0
AFx4
HDR - HIGH
Texture Res - MED
Model Quality - HIGH
Shadow Quality - LOW
Shadow Resolution - MED
Motion Blur - OFF(annoying shit)
Effect Resolution - HIGH
Effect Quality - HIGH
Effect Volume - HIGH
Lighting Quality - HIGH

On performance test average fps is 27 and only goes below 20 fps when preloading.

Pretty amazing GFX, and fun game as well.

Playing the game on Vista in DX10 Mode.
Using Forceware 162.15 beta.
GFX: 8800GTS 640MB/ CPU E6600

The game doesnt run well on max, I have to set shadows to medium (=no soft shadows) and disable AA, then I can play it on 1680x1050 without slowdown. I would have expected a bit better performance. (the gfx are good, but not THAT great!!)

Btw, updating the drivers didn't give me a performance boost. (was using 158.** before)

The game is still fun tho, played till Mission 3 yesterday.

Crashes like a bitch for me, works like a charm when it DOES.
I heard about a new beta driver that fixes the crashing, but when I go to nzone, the beta driver for XP has been removed...hrrrumpph.

saying most ppl owns 2 PC's is a broad exageration... Let alone ppl owning 22/24 inches screens Smile

Please... Either you live in a very rich country like Swiss or Luxembourg... or you lost touch with reality Smile

Anyway i read some reviews online, most people seems to agree with me that it's a very very lazy ports, and that capcom doesn't seems to care much about PC gamers... Sad

I like this game, runs much better then the demo for me, the demo was barely playable, while the full runs very nice Smile

Dunno about linear atm, I'm just at level 2, but it's much of the same as level 1, so I hope it isn't till level 15 the same, but the gameplay is good, the graphics are nice, the effects are nice. I like it Smile

I'm a bit worried about the performance of the dx10 version. If this game can't run very good on a 8800 GTX i can't think about what's going to happen with Crysis whose graphic is much better and complex.

Anyway this game is having really bad reviews i won't try it.

If you didn't figure out by new that the 8800GTX won't be able to run Crysis by ****, you're way late.

Thats what everyone said about 9700pro/9800pro and farcry, yet it ran pretty darn good.

I guess we'll see then, wont we?
I just have a bad feeling about this game, and the entire DX10 concept; especially when talking about ports.

On Crysis:

"Cevat says that a mid level E6600 CPU is enough to play the game on ULTRA HIGH settings - obviously an 8800 would also be required (8800GTS would be ok but GTX ideal) and 2 GB ram needed - the ram is his highest priority upgrade recommendation"
