This release fucked me up very bad. Something is terribly wrong with it. I will post back when I fix things. Don't get this !
EDIT: My explorer.exe keeps getting shut down. It started 2 mins after running the "cracked" Daemon Tools Pro by Paradox (supposedly, may be a fake)

Finally, it was Trojan.Vundo , I had to use VundoFix to remove it, after a LOT of failed attempts with other software.

It may be just the file I downloaded that was infected. It is reported somewhere that there's another download with a different setup.exe (probably the one I downloaded)

yea thats me saying it so what? i ul to those sites mostly not dl, unless its some huge pack of stuff. wouldnt be caught dead dling a full rls from a torrent. much better places to get rlses. ngs, fxp etc.

I've been trying out test drive unlimited by using a maxi image, and I get that freaking "insert the original in drive <insert first IDE drive letter here>" message.
So I had to use YASU to cloak my physical/IDE drives, then it worked. I thought DT Pro didn't need any external tool ... Maybe I am missing something in the options ? I've also tried with all emulations on, btw.

This game has an IDE check, when it finds some scsi devices it wont work.
So its a generally scsi blacklist, not a DT one.
This is why we wait of vIDE !

I can still run TDU with DT (non pro) without YASU, I haven't checked DTPro yet. |
I absolutely have to use YASU for TDU, with DT and DT Pro. Have you used any registry trick ? I suppose you do have IDE dvd drives, right ?

There is a topic on the Daemon Tools forums where they discuss the Paradox release and as a result of that release all updates and similar will be for customers only whereas the trial version will be kept as is, there were also talk about various security holes and flaws that Paradox used when creating their release and it seems that these will also be fixed in future updates.

Some SF3 games don't really work with the vIDE. This is due to how aggressive the checks were back then (they did some pretty funky low level shit). The virtual IDE drive mainly is for the games that use the SCSI blacklisting, and not the super low level checks like SF used to use..
