Seen as both Waldo and myself have just purchased R4's its about time we had a nice new "must have" games thread! I currently have the following sitting on the card:

Mario Kart
Pokemon Diamond
Metroid Prime
Trauma Center
Yoshis Island
Lunar Knights
Mega Man ZX
Worms Open Warfare
Mario & Luigi Partners In Time
Castlevania DOS

I also have FF3 (got my save on the kart, so unless I can somehow pull it off, I'm just going to stick with using my original), Super Mario (the new one) and Starfox (which I'm not that big a fan off)...

So, what do people recommend? If you give suggestions, name the genre and a little description as to why you enjoy the game as it saves trying things you just wont like (eg. I hate puzzle games and as the DS has thousands I don't want to be trying any.. still.. add them as other people may like them Smile!!).

And no "that game sucks" unless you have a well constructed and non annoying reason as to why you don't like it (these opinions are also helpful, but only if done correctly).

Not many people like it but I am in love with Lost Magic, it sucks to duel random people online as just about everyone knows all the cheap moves, but if you just battle some close friends who don't know every last thing about the game it is tons of fun.

I just love the concept and gameplay, but again, some people find it flawed and unfun. SP is VERY challenging and MP is very rewarding taking your mage and monsters online for battle. Smile

Also I play Tetris a lot, just the small changes they made (hold piece, see 5 pieces ahead) add a lot to the standard mode, and the 4 player item battle mode is lots of fun as well.

And for fighting nothing tops Jump! Ultimate Stars, very very sweet game (go read a translation at gamefaqs, it's not hard once you get used to it).

Again, don't play online with random people, there is some uber cheapness going on with some of the support cards, but don't let that throw you, this game is awesome.

Well those are my 3 on the list. Smile

I agree with you guys!

Looking forward to Zelda, FF12 Revenant Wings and Sim City.

For those of you that like simpler puzzles, try Piccross. It's cool in a sudoku kind of way.

Also, The Settlers DS may be cool.

I really, really like the way Zelda plays, the controls feel very good.

Too bad I can't understand any dialogue, makes the puzzles much more difficult.Wink

I've tried 3 different versions of Sim City (USA and EUR) but not one works. It says it can't load the data. The roms are all 12mb but when I unpack them they are 65mb.

Anybody got Sim City working?

Works fine here, but it doesn't work on dual slot cards due to having a weird save game type (much like the new Zelda).. the single slot carts have firmware updates to fix the issue.

I'm using a R4 with 1.10 firmware btw.

Brothers in Arms is a masterpiece-for a fps(tps) on a handheld console anyways. I can't put it down while at work and even home sometimes. The graphics are in a league of its own.

And there is cod coming to the ds with even better graphics, amazing for the little handheld that could. http://media.ds.ign.com/media/948/948557/vids_1.html

Good to see more mature titles being released and in the works.

L0L1111 D00D JOO SO RITE DS GFX ARE CRAP!!!!!!!!!!11111

I WANT CRYSIS/KILLZONE3/WHATEGVER ON MY 2.5 INCH SCREEN!!! WTF!??!?!?!

Seriously, guess you missed the memo where gfx in handhelds dont mean shit, as indicated by the shitty-ass psp sales to date(1:100 or something?). If I want to bask in gfx glory, I play on my 24 inch lcd or our 50 inch plasma in the living room.

If I want greatly enjoyable games to play while Im at work/waiting on an appointment/taking a dump?

DS lite it is.
