Kick? I seem to remember you could only punch. Preferably with the lead plated boxing gloves. Even so it was hellishly boring.

Just for the record the boxing was in New Reno, new san fransiscoo was the martial arts (the dragon and lo pan), but both were buggy, especially the one in new san fransisco...

It will probably be possible, though there will most likely be quite severe effects for killing children in the game, the preview also stated that they detonated the megaton bomb in that town wich more or less blew the entire settlement away in a colourful mushroom shaped cloud so the kid probably died as well.
(Wonder what the fatman cannon they used against the Behemoth can do do cities seeing as it launches nuclear warheads. Very Happy )

Page 16 of this thread has a link to the website that hosted the preview article.

There's quite a bit of information revealed about the title but there's more than a year untill the estimated release date so things can change untill then.

Here is the take that pretty much sums up what I already said, and unfortunately underlines it. (this time based on the mag. preview)

I also think fisk should be unbanned.

I Love Fallout 3, it's the best game ever

Sorry I couldn't help myself, as when you talk about rpg codex on the elderscrolls forums it gets translated into "I love" because rpgcodex are the site on the internet that has been criticising Oblivion the most and is now the only site whos not happy about bethesda aquiring the fallout license, the site's "banned" from the entire Bethsoft network Razz

And I mean who wouldn't want to help The Blades save the world from the up and coming doom from the Mythic Dawn? errr.... help The Brotherhood of Steel save the world from the Supermutants in New Reno I mean.

Summary of GameInformer video interview:

If you read the summary you don't really need to see the video, as you'll probably figure out much more from it than from the videos, but here they are anyways:

The interview itself:

Sounds good to me, I'm looking forward to it. As long as it maintains the atmosphere of the fallout universe I'm not too bothered about the combat.

I'm not bothered about the combat either, I was expecting Oblivion with guns in that respect. However, I was hoping that the dialogue and approach to the game would be more Fallout than Oblivion. The reports suggest a big resounding, deflating; no.

It's positives, like Oblivion can be discounted as hype until we have it in our hands. The negatives on the other hand can be blown up and taken for what they are Sad

Sure it would be cool to have an actual Fallout sequel, but bethesda will make a good RPG, no matter what. At least they're proven in that aspect.

If nothing else I get a postapocalyptic oblivion, with no level scaling. And that still sounds pretty sweet to me.

They could delay the game intentionally to fall 2008... to hear feedback from fans thanks to the previews.
You know, to change some aspects perhaps? I know it sounds like a madness, but who knows Razz

The dialogues and talks is one of the things that made fallout that fun and full of humor. If you wont be able to see the WHOLE answers its gonna be half fun and thats not good.

In Oblivion it didnt seem like your character is actually talking .. it was just saying topics and got stupid answers from NPCs and usually the same shit from each of em.

I think that just because Bethesda made Oblivion and that Fallout is using an upgraded version of the engine, it doesn't necessarily entail that everything will be similar, like the dialogue.

Q: Is this another Oblivion but with a Fallout theme?
A: In short: no. Sure, Fallout 3 plays primarily from a first-person perspective like Oblivion, and conversations with NPCs use a similar style of dialogue tree, but combat, questing, character creation and most importantly the tone and style of the gameplay shares more in common with Fallout 1 and 2 than Oblivion.

yea
reminds me of fallout's dialogue when INT = 1
with all the signs of things to come, i'm guessing the + button on INT in character creation is greyed out so the character wouldn't be too smart for it's world

Haha so true... It aint going to be what fallout was but sure is going to be a great game ! I'm kinda hoping for a game like STALKER with a bigger budget and more rpg elements. If STALKER delivered on the atmosphere, i cant wait what this game will feel like.
