that's what u get for supporting a company because u believe in them rather then just to have a program's license Laughing

Not really, one can just follow the link in the Daemon Tools Pro release thread and buy it from there, had to do this myself since the email account I used when I first registered isn't active any longer and I haven't bothered with changing it.
(Doesn't really cost that much anyway and it was worth the money.)

ye and technicaly u dont see the daemon tools pro release thread if u're not a supporter Very Happy
that's why they tell not to disclose the link, because it's for customers only atm

I can understand that, seems they want some more features in the program before it'll be announced on the official site such as the vIDE system and various improvements to things like the SPDT drivers.

Compared to similar programs such as Alcohol it seems that Daemon tools is quite advanced and this Pro version will probably be improved quite a bit over time.
(For me, being able to clone and emulate most of the various copy protections is quite a nice addition seeing as there's usually a lack of fixed updates.)

Ofcourse having to renew the license yearly can be a annoyance but it's not that much of a issue if the program recieves frequent updates and additions and the whole 1 license deal can also be slightly problematic if you have multiple computers or use a dual-boot system.
(Have to revoke the license on one system or OS to activate the program on another system or OS unless you feel like buying multiple licenses.)

Lol from Daemons home page...

Dear DT users!!

it comes to our attention that some users experienced problems when DT Pro is used together with YASU (deleted atapi.sys!)

This is caused by an incompatibility between DT Pro, SPTD and YASU. Our research-team found the culprit and reported it to responsible department.

We strongly advice all our users to not use YASU together with DT / DT Pro or Alcohol as long as no fix is issued. We will inform here later where to download updates so that this error is fixed and it is safe to use YASU again...

Until then please strongly follow our advice!

The DAEMONS Home Team

Lol if Pro is uber cool and cant be detected by any protection why do people use Yasu with Daemon tools pro? Laughing

Rightttttttt.... like people who gave money dont know for what they gave money. Laughing
People know that in theory pro should emulate all protections but it seams its not working so people started using Yasu to cloak drives. Since pro is still scsi driven, its still easy to detect it with copy protection. Laughing

At this time Pro is NOT blacklisted by anyone. There are a lot of people who dont know shit about protections they just want to play some warez games for free so they follow the instructions written in .nfo blindly.

SCSI or IDE, it will be blacklisted soon anyway. Alot of people are working on it and get payed for it. The important thing is that DT team should support Pro and remove blacklists quickly. Time will tell if they will be able to do it or not

The screens show that you can create profiles for all your current images for easier access and also compress them to save space.

There were also a recent update to this program wich fixes some minor bugs together with the YASU issu and faster TAGES image creation so the program is actively supported.

It's a nice improvement over Daemon Tools but one can also use the regular edition if image creation and profiling isn't important.
(Though various future updates to the Pro version will add extra stuff such as the vIDE system wich should help against all the blacklisting, atleast for a while.)

I don't really know what to call since it's one of the main features of DT Pro it but for some reason it never made it into the release version so instead it will be added in a future update though I don't really know when that update will be released.
(Don't really know much about it but if I remember correctly it should replace the SCSI system due to how easy that system is blacklisted.)

Quote:

Features that will be added with one of the next updates:

- the vIDE. Yes, the vIDE didnt make it to release-version. But before ANYONE starts
complaining: it is nearly finished yet and will be added via update in very very
near future. After all we promised you that vIDE and you will get it. So do us a
favor and not complain about missing vIDE now. It will be added ASAP. No joke.

- Disk-image-converter to transfer old images directly. That way, you can compress images
and encrypt them without the need to re-read them. It is in development actually but
would take some time to finish it!

EDIT: And here's the current changelog for the 214 version.

Quote:

What's new:
- added new languages: French, Italian;
- German language updated.

Bugs fixed:
- Tages grabbing takes too long time and some games images do not work;
- Resolved incompatibility issue with YASU;
- Images splitting does not work with some grabbers;
- Image Catalog folder renaming error;
- Images custom icon setting;
- Image Media Icon detection on first mounting;
- Symbol ":" and other special symbols in Image file name on Disc Imaging Options window;
- New Folder name's list item didn't stay in edit mode on new folder creation in Image Catalog;
- Some GUI Image Catalog issues on x64 systems (XP, Vista);
- minor GUI fixes.

Known issues:
- Some TAGES grabbed images utilize up to 100% CPU time in certain configurations;
- DTPro Shell extensions do not appear on x64 platforms;
- Rare System's hangs at images mounting on Windows Vista.

A few issues remain and the above features still need to be added but other than that the program is quite stable. Smile

no it wasnt. since the first dtpro announcement in late 2005 the v.ide was supposed to come as a bonus plugin, words: "It is planned to integrate it later (couple of
months) to DT Pro as new IDE-adapter-plugin, so you can chose between the usual
scsi-stuff and the new ide-device."

if u wanna talk crap at least have the decency to browse through the official announcements Laughing

Right, DT Pros vIDE is limited to 2 or 4 Drives instead of 32 SCSI Drives.

And you can use every image from Safedisk, SecuROM, Protect CD, Tages, Starforce etc..

i remember a game GT Legends, never got a crack, you could play it, using some tools or unplug your optical drives

are you been able now to run this game (whitout unplugging any optical drives and not using any other tool) with this Daemon-tools Pro ?

It was already answered. Use your eyes. Its not like Pro needs Yasu, it doesnt, they just didnt work together properly. That could cause possible problems for some lamers, so they fixed it

tried that, didnt work for me at least, so i guess it not a 100% working solution i guess, like it didnt work for some people using SFNightmare and tools, unless i disconnect my optical drives, the game runs, using sfcure
