I still find sniping in Joint Operations a lot of fun, and to a lesser extent Battlefield 2. Probably not the best choices if you're looking for realism though Smile

JFK reloaded had the best sniping mechanics ive ever played.. I don't think you can get it anymore though.

If only the developers made the target osama or hitler instead of JFK they would be rolling in cash ;p

There are awesome custom user-made sniper missions for Operation Flashpoint. I think it's the best experience you can have.

Ah, and of course Sniper Elite http://www.ag.ru/screenshots/sniper_elite

Actually it's not quite perfect, coz it's a WWII game. I'd prefer modern shit like Barrets, SVDs etc.

I remember Sniper Elite. ughh it was truely an horrible experience (not mentioning horrendous gfx).
basically after you move an inch from starting point in each mission, you get shot.
dont try to outsmart the enemy, the games actually cheats.

It was a brilliant concept but if I remember rightly it wasn't that detailed in mechanics at all.

I echo Sniper Elite, and the criticisms - but that's a small price to pay for a game that involves some degree of realism. I remember liking the original Hidden and Dangerous for sniping, and I'm sure the sequel had some good moments as well (but not dedicated obviously).

As someone already said though, the best you're going to get is Armed Assault/Operation Flashpoint. Highly recommended.

sniper elite had realism?
since when do snipers run through killing everything in sight? (pun not intended)

i don't get why there isn't a proper realistic sniper game already
could be gripping

flashpoint was great as a sniper game, eventhough the gameplay mechanics weren't completely tuned for it
i think armass even has a 'hold breath' button assignment on it? can't remember

also, hitman games, ofcourse
too bad there's not that many missions lending themselves well to snipers in blood money
there were a few in contracts i think

Don't forget the first SWAT game in the police quest series.Although the play was through full motion video you did take realistic shots at suspects and had to sight in your rifle etc...do your cold barrel shots.

I like sniping in GRAW2. ArmA is very cool too although there arent any good sounds by default so you don't get that powerful awe when you shoot someone with an M107.

Note to self: come up with a good sig.

There were some funny levels in "commando strike force" for sniping, but nothing realist nor brilliant actually. Smile

Dunno. Bought JFK Reloaded when it came out, but have never ever seen that screen in the game. Probably some mock-up.

Seems it's on various like like TPB as well, unsure about the language but I'd guess it contains English voice or atleast text.

EDIT: Haven't heard of this game before but here's some screens of it.
