Those libs being illegal and MS having the option to shut them down any day they want, I wouldn't have my hopes too high. With them trying to earn money from those half-ass port libs, if I was MS, I'd be suing already. And that didn't come from an MS fanboy, but from a dev who'd hate having people not only reverse-engineering my code, but earning money from it as well. Bla!

How are they illegal? They're creating there own libs to process DX10(or vista) calls in a DX9(xp) environment.. That doesn't require using any of MS's code. Its the same concept used by WineX (Cedga) to get dx games running in linux and OSX.

DX10 isn't open-source, so they are reverse engineering. I'm sure MS has anti-reverse engineering clause in the EULA...  I'm all for it, but charging money (or lying to people just to make money) is? That's wrong, and they should be sued.

Only issue is that this will create quite a performance hinderance. So much so, that you might as well bite the bullit and buy Vista at that point.

Yep, and it used to happen in the 80's in America, when big companies were staging takeovers of all the small companies, and then selling their assets for profit, destroying hundreds of thousands of companies and creating corporate monopolies in several industries, such as the food industry. Laws have since been passed, but they're murkier in terms of the software industry. Still, I'm sure in a decade or two they'll start putting curbs on software giants as well, just like M$ is getting fucked now in Europe

also if this is whats coming in the future than release grps should tag there shit saying (vista only) or something...if it wasnt for places like this i would have d/l'd it and wondered why it didnt work..

I used razor crack with another earlier release and it works. The game is OK only the graphics are really substandard.
