I think its slowly time you guys start to look a bit closer at VISTA, its what...6 months since the release. I never really had any issues whatsoever. OK you might need an average powered relatively new rig for it to run smooth with all options, but guys!, the DX10 stuff is not far way now...

to add to captaincox's comment...What some of you do not realize that any game from this point on pretty much or by next year that is released by microsoft will be vista only because they want to force us in the end to upgrade to there new product...Do not expect a xp patch for halo 2 or any other vista game from microsoft...& also I havn't been hearing as many complaints about vista as in those first few months so they must be patching things up to make em run right... Microsoft made there own mistake though thinking people will want to pay for services that the x-box 360 has that we have already gotten for years for free. but in the end I say fuck microsoft it's like women...ya can't live with them but you can't live without them....fuck lol

when 50 games will be already out for Vista ( I don't refer tofreecell-type of games), then I'll start studying the pro/con aspects. For now Xp is enough for me. And its not a stupid port from console involving mutant bunnyhoppers that will change my mind.

yeah for sure! XP is tweaked, as not like in vista. Some pretty good games dont even run on vista! and what do you have there? DRMs and aging controls? lmao
people have enough with XP. and M$ knows that! thats the reason for Halo2, DX10 ...
I think its impossible to make it for xp (for now), unless you emulate it in vmware workstation or something...

That has to be one of the most idiotic statements I have ever heard. It's like comparing the steam engine to a fish.

Until Ati and Nvidia will start to release proper and final drivers Vista will be very difficult to use. In particular i'm still waiting to see the vsync activated. The incredibile thing is that only with the freeware software Ati Tray Tool is possible to do that. It's not Microsoft fault if Vista has issues.

Not possible. The game uses calls that will only work with D3D10. If the D3D10 API is not present the game will not be able to run in anyway, shape, or form.

It doesn't use Dx10.

It's not a problem. You fucked with your services. Pull up the services panel and re-enable secondary login.

I dont see any problems with nvidia or ati, related to playing games under vista, maybe its little slower, but vsync on works already with latest forceware and catalysts dont have problems with forcing vsync on.

Service is enabled and running. Game still won't install. Any other bright ideas?

i know that microsoft works on new os, so its very confusing right now, xp do the job fine +- and vista needs service pack to fix all the shit, and in another year , new os?
(not sure about the release date of the next os)
all this market sucks lol.

yeah and Vistas DX9L is SO compatible that when i wanted to run some DX9c game its said "DX9c not installed"
Vista is a nice system but the compability rate of it sucks |
I'm no fan of the newest dx, however I cannot applaud stupidity, you have to run the dx redist of dec2006 or newer for anykind of dx9 functionality in Vista, same as in XP.

crack works (the big 400kb).
Network is now available. Who's up for a game over hamachi? (no, halo isn't great, ut2k4 is much better, blah blah blah, there's nothing out right now and I don't feel like installing 2k4).
