The new ATi deal is to allow ALL Radeon cards holders to download HL2:LC and HL2 Deathmatch for free and play. There is nothing wrong here except from the fact that many people already got HL2 with their coupon...which then allowed them to get deathmatch for free Confused

I need this game so badly! lol.
Too bad I'm waiting months for 4 hours of SP gameplay Razz
At least we'll get some more gameplay time with TF2 and Portals. Though the wait is still too long.
I'd rather they'll release Episode 2 now and release TF2 and Portals later in standalone or with Episode 3 when it will be ready if not too late.

The wait is just too long Razz

that's if you walk around and listen to people complain how lousy their life is. If you run around reading posters. Stop at every corner. If you run through the game like you should, then it'll take a tiny bit Razz

But at least it'll probably be 6 hours of quality. I'd take that of 20 hours of boredom any day.

The game has been made already most likely, but the sales probably werent that good of the first episode so they decided to deliver 3 in 1 hoping to sell it better. Maybe not.

I didn't buy Episode 1 because of no Multiplayer, then I guess there's something right in what you're saying.
I'm buying Episode 2 for sure because of TF2.

Rolling Eyes EA imposed the delay so the game could be ported to PS3 and X360...

You have a point. If they compared HL2 with Ep1 and seen the huge difference then there was only one option: give more.

so many Steam/Valve haters in this thread Sad

Honestly though, for online content/game delivery Steam is probably the best. EA Link is...meh mostly EA games, and D2D while vast, is too diverse and the whole patch system is BS. Mind you D2D is great for getting MMO keys that wouldn't necessarily be available online. Oh D2D is stupid expensive, also.

You guys are directing your hate to the wrong people. Fuck going to the store, I say.

Oh, for that ATI free HL2:DM deal...can I claim that freebie under a new account? I could probably pass it off to my wife or brother or something.

Are you calling Nightlith a troll? Because he's definitely not being one.

Ok, so there aren't that many haters in this thread, but in general there are alot of people who whine about valves business practices, and how they hate steam, yet the same people get hold of their games as soon as they're available.

It's not like valve are forcing people to play their games, or wait for them to come out. But if so many people are whining about it they must be doing something right, if their games were crap no-one would care.

Laughing Actually, there should be Vavle hating. Steam as a concept is great, that's not the issue. The issue is THEY HAVE SOLD THEIR SOULS TO THE DEVIL (=EA), AND ARE DELAYING THE DAMN GAME SO STUPID PORTS COULD BE MADE!!

Taken from Blues News:

Quote:
Shacknews says they've confirmed with Valve that October 9, 2007 is the planned release date for Half-Life 2: Episode Two, TeamFortress 2, and Portal. All three games are to be available at Steam and in stores bundled with Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One in what's called the "Orange Box" (though with the cancellation of the Black Box (story), this one is now just "The Box").

October 9th it is then...... suuuuuuuurrrreee

its not like he can play it yet. thats whats real gay about steam. you get a game and cant play it till they say so. lol real lame. plus did you notice the horrible editing on the words in that pic? lol lame attempt at a fake. use better editing software than MS paint next time.
