Sorry for the double...but that doesnt sound right, the files included with the torrent doesnt replace anything in the WINDOWS folder.....So how can that make windows not boot up

people commenting where? the file has been deleted on the tracker so youll be waiting a long long time for it to complete, and from the comments on that mini site, it looks like h2 doesnt even install in xp

I think the files that u put in the WINDOWS folder allows for it to be installed. Because its the second step in the .nfo

A halo 2 xp crack is possible... but it will take a bit more than a couple of dll's from Vista.
But honestly I have more interest in the Cowboy Bebop episode that I just finished dling.

Mmmm just watched the first episode so I have no clue who Faye is, but hey, its not the usual Anime crap that my friends try to get me to watch, so w/e, I like it.

If it's the same windows files as the game requested then it would be a very bad idea to replace them since they are core files required for the system to work properly.
Kernel32.dll, AdvApi32.dll, Msvcrt.dll and others.
(Tried to hex edit the exe once and rename the dll files slightly and then copied them from the Vista disc and renamed them, had over 20 dll files in the game folder in the end and it still requested other files so a XP crack would be quite difficult.)
Wonder what those Vista to XP people will do to get the game working on that system?
(Can't be that easy unless they somehow change the exe file or such.)

Some idiot thought they could edit the PE header and just drop Windows Vista libraries into Windows XP. That's a "yes, fake".

looks like there will be no patch for xp, although its released with no xp patch... very sad about this....

Any idea when it will be playable on XP?
I got nothing to play lately, and Halo 2 sounds nice. Though there's no way I'm installing Vista on my 2years old machine.

Null out the pointer to the import table in the PE header, then right before EP get your ass a custom API loader, and if something doesn't load ignore it. Works well, but not well enough 
But thats not unsolvable.
