I guess I'm talking about both. lol
Sorry didn't mean to be confusing. I had to read the wikki on the games because they all kinda look the same and it gets confusing.

I am playing Arvoch Conflict and I have to say I am impressed and I will be paying for the full game to support their efforts. For once I am not being a graphic whore and really enjoying the experience.
The thing that drew me to the game was the fact that you can enter planet atmospheres in real time with no cut scenes. I know this is in Evochron Alliance but I haven't got that far in either game yet. I hope it's not dissapointing. |
Evochron is more like an open ended type game where you mine astoroids, trade goods... etc.
I wish Evochron's multiplayer would pick up. It could be something really cool if it did.
The single player game and multiplayer game of Evochron are interwoven in that, the same character yu use in single player is the same one you use in multiplayer.

I have EA2 and in my opinion the game are just regular. The graphics looks like lego blocks, the systems are similar, the planets scale and transiction from space to ground surface are so basic and unreal . While you docked at station if you have some pirates in your neck, they you continue to open fire and you surfering damage (even docked). I think that this last apect have been improved by giving you a choice to buy some license to avoid it.
I think that PARKAN II (Two years old game) that has the english release a few days ago, is much more better like a space sim, more fun, more surprises, good graphics (for a game two years old). I have it and enjoy much more than EA2.

As far as Parkan II is concerned I even went as far as trying the ruskie release and pretending I was in an alien world not knowing the language etc, etc. Talk about role playing. lol.
I didn't get far..........

Yep. i agree with you. I bought Parkan II a few days ago.
2 things that are annoying (but not game breaking):
1) Voice acting is absolutely HORRIBLE beyond comprehension. I mean... it is far and away the worse I have ever heard. Really really REALLY bad.
2) For whatever reason, the sound effects just don't seem loud enough. Like when I fire a lazer, it is barely audible. The voices and music are fine. I really actually thought of going through and replacing all the voice files my self. It really is that bad.
The game however, IS great. Why oh why can the big name developers not come up with original ideas like Parkan II and Space Rangers II? Why do they continuously throuw out the same things in different packages? I was absolutely floored by Space Rangers II.
Parkan II is right there with it. It is cool that's for sure and worth 29 bucks.

for Parkan II sounds in dxdiag i keep de hardware acceleration in basic and disable 3d sounds in options and no more problems with it.
I think that we need to open a topic about Parkan II (if already don´t exist one).

Q: Copy protection?
A: No we are not bothering with that. Who wants to buy it, that one will buy and who wants to copy that one will copy. There is no chance that we can force someone to buy our game. With copy protection we can only harm sincerely ones that properly buy our game. And if someone like game why don't buy. It only can get better sequel. Especially from us, because we are very small team in development.
Well, that about guilts me into it. As long as I like it more than the demo (I didn't play it due to no joystick support) I will buy it Thursday.

Epsilon: That mod does indeed look pretty darn sweet. Gonna reinstall X3 and snag that.
Back on topic, I kinda like the game.
BUT... for some freaking reaosn... I am dying left and right on the story mode's 1st mission. Wierd thing is, I killed them in the demo. . . can't seem to do it now though. Perhaps Parkan II has screwed up my flying somehow... dunno.
gonna keep at it. Played free form and liked it.
What exactly do you need to mine asteroids? i bought a tool and blew up a few... how do you get the minerals (or whatever) from them? is there something else I need besides the tool?
