hello. i'am trying to install this on my comp using the guide provided (website link).

"How to Create a Simple Dual Boot System (Win XP/Mac OS 10.4.6/10.4.7/10.4.8"
"3. (we take case b. and c. people here!)" <-- that's for me!

Put the OS X Install DVD in the drive (Yes, really!)

-When you are at the installation menu, choose from the menu Utilities -> Disc Utility.

i'm unable to get the install to run at all, even with auto-run cd-insert nothing happens. I tried to boot off it i get an error while it is loading. i'm trying to install it on a seperate partitions with the specs required as it says in that guide.

Any ideas???

my pc specs.

Intel Pentium D 950 3.40GHZ
mmx,sse,sse2,sse3,em64t
asus p5n32-sli premium

What error do you get when trying to boot off the disk? googling this might help.

Are you installing osx onto a primary/secondry drive or one connected via a pci controller card. My Mac Laughing doesnt detect drives connected via a promise ide controller card.

However as someone who has installed both 10.4.4 and 10.4.8 I have too say that they are quirky. I installed 10.4.4 without any problems so I thought 10.4.8 would be no different, I was wrong. You might want to try an earlier release.

Have you had a look at the install guides over at
http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Installation_Guides

EDIT when booting and you get that welcome to darwin etc select boot options i think -v gives error messages.
