Anyone have this setup? Does it work? Does it look good? Is it stretched, or does it just stay 4:3 display? Can anyone post a screenshoot of what it would look like please?
Im new to the widescreen gaming world, and this game hinges on me buying this monitor.
in general how is having a widescreen monitor for playing games? Are you able to play the game with black bars on either side other then stretching the game?

I've noticed when playing alot of games that support widescreen its easier on my eyes. ESPECIALLY fps. I went back to a normal monitor and I started getting a headache cause everything was mushed together. but which is better is personal preference.
NHL07 on the other hand doesn't support widescreen.
There are tricks to games to get them to run in widescreen such as .ini tweaks and so forth which don't always just stretch the display. Check out this forum.

does this mean that the game wont run on the widescreen monitor? or that it will not stretch the entire screen? or have black bars in the sides?
thanks for the link .. gonna post there now too to see if anyone can show me any screens of what it will look like.

just means you won't have resolutions for widescreen. When your looking through the rez's your going to be using ones that you would use on a 4:3 so the display will seem a lil odd.

so you think you will be able to play it at say 1280x1024 (which is what I do now on my 19" LCD) and it will have black bars on either sides? or will it be forced to stretch the entire screen?

if youre gonna play this game on this monitor youre better off playing the 360 version since the pc version sucks and is basically just 06 with a new roster. it lacks all of the better control features the 360 version has not to mention the new gfx engine.

It'll just stretch on the whole screen, I don't think you'll notice it all that much on this game as you would like an FPS

i've had the pc version since it came out.. i love it! and also have the 360 version.. i dont see a major difference in between the two.. except for the wicked shootout mode that 360 has. but ya it hasnt changed much since 06 thats for sure.
all in all you think widescreen is a good choice over what i have now, samsung 19" 931BF, which has a 700:1 contrast ratio and 2ms response.
