hello and greet my old late reply,
you are a fucking moron. c sharp is the worst programming langage (with other .net languages), because .net is complete bollocks. no matter how hard you program (tho visual studio does that yourself, yes. lol, noobs) still the program buggies somewhere..
yes

cnZ all code has bugs. Programing is about making bugs be resonable and caught so they dont take down the whole app.
and .NET in general leads to LESS buggy code because you dont have to deal with dynamic memory like you do in c++.
Also, this thread is stupid old. Like i think i used to mod this forum when it was started

What's wrong with Java?! Sun are one of the most successful open-source groups in existance, for a reason.

Java is quite a reasonable language but when it first hit the scene it was slow and buggy, it has made vast improvements but it missed its GUI chance. Good for server side though. Nothing to wrong with it but it missed its chance to blow.
C# is a nice language, its also a rapid one, so developing is alot faster but if you lack any knowledge it will show in your applications. The reason VS does half the work for you is because of commerical demand, you *should* really understand what it is doing! .NET as a whole is a really nice idea and I think its implemented alot better than the java stack, also v3 and orcas are looking very nice.
Thats enough of a rant, everyone should learn C/C++ or at least cod ea few projects to get an idea of procedural/OO and memeory management,
That is all

People are/were missing the point of Java when it was first created. It was intended to be a cross platform language while still maintaining the fact of having a fairly hefty SDK - for multi platform (i.e mobile phones and so forth). Of course this all comes with a large over head, while in retrospective it's always going to compared to a object orientated language such as C++.
It still maintains it's self as the leading alternative for this, dispite being open source (which unfortunately in this day and gay ass age is a very rare thing).
They're two completely different languages, of course C++ is perhaps 'more powerful' and by no means would I ever slag it off, it earns me my money. But by no means does Sun nor Java deserve a slagging off, especially from fucking retards who couldn't bang out a shit.
None of the slagging off was aimed directly at you orph ;]

.NET languages don't have that overhead, so that's not an excuse. Even the Mono Project is better than Java. The problem with Java is its VM. It is just a very bad implementation, sorry.

Seriously, what the fuck? I hate getting in fucking slagging matches and shit.... but fuck me.
.NET does not anywhere near the cross-platform ability that Java has. The whole logic behind write once, run anywhere. .NET has no credibility in this. I'm not going to ramble on, it gets boring for everyone.

Being cross-platform does not compensate for being a memory hog or slow as hell. About .NET, how about you check out the Mono Project before saying anything else on its "cross-platform ability."

Java is not slow at all. I wonder if you have ever programmed Java.
Some other forum I visit runs coding contests, until now it's always been a Java solution that performs best in speed, code quality and documentation quality. It always beats out C++, Delphi, statistical languages like R, scripts like PHP, etc.
