Actually there is a quake mod out there that uses much of the same technology as doom 3 called DarkPlaces. Tenebrae also gives quake quite an overhaul ;P Peace,

CS:S was a huge overhall of CS HUGE I tell you..... HL1:S isnt supposed to be much of an overhall but if they include it in the game... what the hell... might as well try it out

I might cancel my pre-order for HL2 and pre-order the Collector's Edition. I mainly want the CE for HL1: Source and the game will be on DVD-ROM. 6 CDs? No thanks. I sometimes have problems installing games and it will like ask me for the first cd while installing another cd. If it does usually I have to start the whole install over again. Don't want that to happen here.

The problem, really, is that Valve is charging for DOD - which was a game made by gamers, for gamers, not by a corporation. It really pisses us off to have to pay for a mod, which is supposed to be free, and even if it was free it would undoubtedly help Half Life 2 sell more copies, as people would want to play DOD Source, much like many people bought Half Life years after it came out just to bask in the popularity of CounterStrike.
It's really stupid of them to charge for something like that.
