|
 |
I need to find a program that can make a direct connection between 2 remote PCs, so that I and my friends can transfer files (huge files, heh) between each other. By direct connection I mean that no external servers should be used, transfer speed is of the essence. Don't know if it matters or not, but the PCs are very close geographically.
So what is the best solution ? (plz don't recommend setting up a ftp server)

Well if you get the enterprise or personal edition of VNC it supports file xfering. Theres IRC, there was another but I'll have to find out what that was.

uh
vnc is the worst possible way to transfer files
it's designed for remote desktop control, not filetransfer
i would just setup ftp servers
or use IM that tranfers the files directly
most do anyway
or you could use utorrent or other properly capable software to make a private torrent
but ftp is really the best overall solution

Try Hamachi it will do the job. The transfer speed will be as fast as the connection you and your friends have. https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/
i7 3770k, GTX980, 16GB Ram, SSD Raid0, Internet 3rd world shit not worth mentioning
