if it's not the autosave that kicks in I would assume this is a driver issue.
Have you made sure you are up to date with ALL drivers (motherboard, soundcard, graphics card, directx, etc)?

yeah it probably is a driver issue, im using semi-beta (whql) drivers right now that works wonders for me, so i wont be changing them in a while, but yeah... its prolly that. since i didnt have the problem in the beta, when i used the older official nvidia drivers =)
