As we know, the exe doesn't have protection but the game has an activation protection.
for the 1.2 update, probably we can use the serial which provided by razor on their game release, but to get the activation code after v1.2 updated, what we can do?
do we have to have their keygen or not?
PS. This is not a request, it is just question whether we need keygen or not for the activation code.
Thank you Razz

With 1.2 you either need to wait for cracked patches OR use the 1.2 keygen.

GCW provided 1.2 update without keygen released by razordox, isn't that the cracked patch?

I thought the combat was way better then gothic3 atleast,

what bothers me is the HORRIBLE lip-synch for english speech atleast, and some minor things like people instantly changing to standing mode when you walk past them while they're sleeping... and people walking through closed doors :S

Eh what got me is reguardless how much you level up and with better armor, enemies still seem to kick your ass regaurdess and having more powerful weapons seems to have no effect. I dunno if it was just a bug in my game but everytime I leveled up my dexterity would drop back down to 69% thus making it impossible to use my points on anything else but dexterity if I had plans on hitting shit. The sliding on the hills while standing and running annoyed the hell out of me. Combat seemed decent to me untill I got to someone with a bow and realized I couldn't hit him with a shit if he turned around and started running. I could be standing with my dick in his ass and he so much moves an inch my weapons would miss.

Uh... am I tired...played this game the whole weekend - in my opinion IT ROCKS!
The longer I play the more I like this game.

It combines the best of two world - freedom in an immersive 3D world with many places, dungeons and cities to explore, an interesting main quest and the action-RPG motivation from monster killing, leveling and collecting items.

This item combination system is INSANE! With some luck you can combine and create so insane powerful items, I couldnt quit exploring dungeons, killing mobs and bandits and collecting stuff. Finally again a RPG where you are rewarded for your work! Every minute spend with sidequests and exploring makes your char really better and feeling more powerful - no monster leveling crap ala Oblivion (OK, some random bandits and Orks are leveling with the player, but thats good because they let you loot better items).
I am level 28 now and its almost too easy - on "normal"/medium difficulty (but there are actually slight balancing problems, enemy archers are too deadly, even now, and your progress is often very much depending on luck, especially when getting random-generated items. I found 21x (!) the same spell card with a life-boosting spell, enhancing hitpoints from 850 to over 5000, a bit too powerful I am now....but its not even necessary to use it until now)

Regarding bugs - in hours of playing it did not crash even once (1.2 with 1.1 crack working), but there is still this major game-stopping bug (when the main quest giver (G.) dies or is killed by a monster - which can happen easier then you think according to german forum threads) - the game ends with the good end sequence (!), thats not supposed to happen... Ok, some minor clipping problems and the horse is crap, dialogue is not lip-sync

But nevertheless I like it so much - meanwhile more than Gothic3 and Oblivion. Smile

Ah, forgot I wanted to ask a question:
Sometimes you find ingredients or plants which may enhance you stats permanently (+1 to magic, +1 to strength etc.). There are two categories:
- plants, potions etc. you can consume directly (no problem to use them...)
- items which require to be "cooked" before use (alchemy). but if I put such an item in the cauldron and "cook" it the resulting potion has NOT the effect the item had before.
how does that work so that I get the potion having the same effect (permanently stats boosting) the item had before "cooking"???

thx Confused

Alchemy skill, the higher that skill is the better the potion will be.

Using it too early will waste the "+1 to skill/ability" items unless you use more of them to increase the effect.
(Using a single +1 to strength item may give you a useless potion while using two of them may give you a +1 potion, at early alchemy levels)

I also learned that one can combine various gems and ores to create those 10% damage runes or better but you will loose the skill/ability bonuses so avoid combining stuff randomly if you only want those bonuses.

Daggers, most merchants will have some form of dagger weapon, though you may need to be of a certain level before they show up.
(Seen sword breakers for quite a while but couldn't equip them even when I learned the sword break skill, currently using a dragon dagger wich I suppose are the best dagger for my current level but I don't have the Death Strike skill so I can't really use it for anything.)

I wonder if this was even supposed to be doable but I managed to climb those mountains that surround the gameworld, not much up there aside from a small messagebox telling me to go back.

Climbed up behind the starter temple seen here:

But couldn't do that much aside from checking out the end of the world:

There are mixed feelings. I really like the game, also if your getting the razor release and speak english, you only need the first disc.

It's similar to Oblivion and Gothic 3 with a huge (About 30% largen than Oblivion) open world where you can wander around for hours exploring the wilderness or killing local wildlife or perhaps solving various quests, though some areas may be blocked by strong foes so take care when exploring the gameworld.

Game uses scaling for items and some monsters such as orcs, gromms (goblins) and humans in that they have similar gear that you have access to at that level, shops also scale their items depending on level so don't expect to find the good items untill level 25 - 30.

It's much easier than G3 and Oblivion though since you can't die, you just respawn at the nearest shrine without any penalites and are free to resume doing whatever you did before you died.

Interesting list of skills but not that many of them and only four basic abilities wich are strength, dexterity, willpower and endurance (constitution?).

Leveling is XP based but some abilites need to be trained before you can upgrade them, you usually only need a few XP points to level and you level rather fast, you may also get skill points now and then for various reasons.

Large amount of items and most can be combined to increase their effects but this can be exploited to create, for instance, a merged shortsword with over 1000 damage and various bonuses due to the amount of swords combined together and all effects stack and can be combined a infinite amount of times, as long as you have items to combine it with. (Two of the same kind or a rune with various damage bonuses, only one rune per weapon though but you'll find alot of those and can create your own.)

Can also brew potions depending on alchemy skill but later levels allow you to duplicate potion effects a infinite amount of times so with some patience one can create a +10000 to all skills and bonuses as a permanent effect. (Seen a few of these potions in various screens, multiplayer gaming must be tough with those around.)

Some smaller bugs and issues as well such as the horse behaviour and since the game uses AGEIA some physics related stuff may look odd without such a card installed.

But since the game will be patched due to it's MMO multiplayer nature you can expect all sorts of additions and fixes later on.
(Just check the two changelogs so far, quite a few fixes and additions already.)

Hope that helps somewhat, sorry for the short review and I probably missed a few things.
(Such as the lip syncing wich could be better and general dialogue wich is OK but there could be more of it aside from the general rumours for generic NPC's.)

EDIT: Oh yeah, the world is rather dynamic and your choices do effect your reputation wich will decide whom will speak to you and wich guild quests to perform, npc's also do various activities and it generally works like it should.
(Woodcutter axing his door and a miner hacking away the wood in the town walls can be seen now and then.)

Crime also exist but there's not much to steal aside from various contents in chests and drawers - fines are set to 30.000 gold or 10% of your current gold if you try to bribe the guard, 30% if you really try to bribe him.
(Not that many females in the game either, seen one of them in the wind something town with all the mills but she was quest related and needed 5 gold for a really easy and quick quest.)

I really like the game so far - Im Level 39 and the items, enemies and nature are great.
However I did not follow the story so far...only running around and killing every monster around. However I can now use 2 spells which both double my damage so i have about 5200 damage with a katana Wink And Riding sux...hope they will fix it a little...there are also some stones without collision detection and some unfinished text elements...it said found new place : place_1234 or something link that...and it was some dungeon...so it looks a little unpolished ... but at least it makes a lot of fun..i think i played it for 6 hours today..hehe

Release Note:
=============

3daudio1_1.dll is just a dll that is not installed by directx on win2k,
no change made.

xinput1_3.dll doesn't work under win2k because of TraceMessage(imported from
advapi32.dll) that is not present under win2k, I replaced it in the import by
GetTickCount(kernel32.dll).
Note that the change doesn't damage anything(TraceMessage is just a logging api).

xactengine2_7.dll , the new audio system from microsoft, the dll wouldn't work
because of some missing exports in msvcrt.dll.I replaced the import from msvcrt.dll
by msvcrl.dll.

msvcrl.dll, originally an xp version of msvcrt.dll, renamed it not to damage
any program running under win2k(it will only be used by xactengine),
one of the problem is a call to RtlGetNtVersionNumbers(and yet again another
useless api to stop backward compatibility),
i replaced this api with another and nopped the only call to it with the
push of params to it to preserve the stack.

Install:
========
1. Unrar
2. Copy all the dlls to your WINNTSystem32 directory.
3. Run register.bat
Enjoy two worlds under win2k

drool about this (level 39)

only using potions i find , never brew them myself (anti abuse players for the win)

takes me like .3 sec to reload bow, doing 3500-4000 damage ^^ ( and 54% of them are 500%)

i feel like a god now (without being one ... *cough* potions *cough*)

Boring and unsatisfy so far. I'm in mine. We are having some standing party. Me and 20 dwarfes. We are runnig in circle around pillar and waits to mana get renew. Then quick attack, get heal and same from beginning. But wait, it`s cyclop. Now 20 dwarfes, one human and new runner starts marathon around pillar. But it`s nothing yet. You kill one (great success says Borat) , he will back as ghost. Wolf ghosts, bear ghosts, dwarfes ghosts. Wheeee. Plenty of fun. I hate that resuscitation motive. It`s dumb.
Is it going to be more interesting lately?
Is it me getting old or game is some hard in compare to example easy as hell Oblivion.
Back to Neverwinter 2 now.
