Most dead pixels can't be fixed.

Dead pixels != stuck pixels

Upcoming PC games 2009 and onwards

Lightly tapping them can sometimes work too. I did that once and it worked...well..kinda...the pixel just showed up on the other side of the screen in a less obvious spot

Well it reads "dead" pixels meaning it's kind of a loose interpretation =)

And yes, you have to have some luck on your side, but still... It's better than nothing!

I suggest you pat yourself on the back for already knowing this and celebrate tonight by "making hand party" in your room, all by yourself, as usual.

Actually. What you don't know is that he pays me minimum wage and a saltine cracker at the end of my shift to do that for him

there are lots of them, try wikipedia. You should try to use thin and press it against the screen, but just at the one pixel. To not scratch the screen use something hot underneath. Try until successful. In EU its only warranty on screens with more than 5 or 6 deadpixels. only 2 at 1024x768 tho.

warranty is completely manufacturer dependent
some companies have zero damaged pixel guarantee (usually more expensive displays aswell)
you should check what your warranty is

before physically manhandling your precious screen, you should try some passive methods first
some patterns stress the displays pixel circuits more, which might unstuck them
i've heard there are some software that will focus this stress on a chosen specific area of the screen (around the pixel) so the rest of the screen won't be damaged
