I know it's Ripped from DVD version. But DVD-Rip(MYTH) won't work after first movie. I downloaded DVD by Vegeance amd works fine without install newes drivers.
This release work with no problem, they just forgot about few things . Firts of all , who cares bout missing dll? It works ok without it. And second , when you get message like "game is not properly installed" make yourself a file , for eg. silenthill.reg and put into it this:

After that , click on it, and voila! Game runs perfectly . Have fun!
ps. the only thing that bothers me in this release, is that it has to install from cdrom on C: drive. Because i did only 5 gb partition , and with windows , other crap it was a problem to get 1.5gb free.
ps2. btw it took me 20 seconds to get information from google how to run myth release. Maybe try it by yourself next time .

So, I just need to install, don't care 'bout the damn .dll missing... run Stup.bet to "expand" files... than make a .reg file with this content and run it? So I'll be able to play the game?
PS: I'm not using an US version of Windows... do I need to change any of these lines????
Well i don`t use US version of WINDOWS neither and i didn`t change anything (even more, i took the solution from German site - i`m from Poland) . At least it worked for me with no problem, and no "back to windows" after first movie. During install i had dll error and i just clicked "ok" button, after that i moved silent hill on my second partition, there i ran "setup.bat" , tried to starty the game, and got "game is not properly installed" error, after adding this to registry, game started. so i guess it should work for you .
I stopped wasting time with the myth version and got the DVD version too, but to be honest it wasn't worth the waiting... Silent Hill 4 is by far the worst in the series imo

yeah...imho silent hill 3 was much better, and it`s not about gameplay only...graphic was much more impressive. I thought it will be at least as good as previous version or even better. Well...
