28 Weeks Later

  • Genre: Horror / Sci-Fi / Thriller
  • Theatrical release: 11 May 2007
  • Plot outline:
    Quote:
The British Isles that were once infested with ravenous, bloodthirsty maniacs, are now almost completely void of life. Six months after the outbreak of the deadly Rage Virus annihilated the land, London is ready to be repopulated and reconstruction of the country can begin. Under the strict supervision of the U.S. Military, the first wave of refugees is allowed back into the city. Among them are Don (Robert Carlyle), his new girlfriend Scarlett (Rose Byrne), and Don’s two children. Don lost his wife during the original infection, while Scarlett lost her entire family. All seems under control until a new carrier of the virus makes his way within the quarantined area. As the only known live specimen, he becomes a vital tool to the scientists who hope to learn from their discovery. Call it carelessness or call it bad luck, but the virus eventually spreads once again and now may be even more difficult to contain than the first time around.

nice cant wait for 28 months later, 28 years later, 28 decades later and of course 28 centuries later, etc.

Glad EA doesnt make movies. Laughing

I liked the first, so this could be a nice sequel. At least they did a good job with that Posterdesign.

I fear the worst i saw the first trailer on tv the other night and i wasn't overly impressed at all. Sad

The first one was awesome, especially since it came out at roughly the same time as res evil 1 and was definitely superior to that, no doubt ive left myself open to a few kickings from that comment lol but its my opinion so Razz lol

First one was a top class movie. The best zombie-movie of this century, and there isn't even a single zombie in it! The scenes with the main character walking in a deserted London at sunrise is stunning!
This will probably be crap though

just not as good as the first, at all. there were some nicely gruesome scenes, but with no danny boyle this was a flunk imo.

i hate what they did with the end and the fact its obviously gonna be made into a franchise.

i bet the reason it was shit is because the screenplay wasnt written by alex garland (author of the beach and the tesseract) unlike the first one.

And i fuckin' luv the movie! 28 DL was a blast, and this one is also great. However there is a completely different climax in the movie. There were so very few survivors in 28 DL and the "dead" city was looking extremely cool - just like everyone was sitting in their houses/flats. And the second one...well it's different, but also inevitable as troops have landed in UK and that is PLENTY of troops.

PS. Robert Carlyle roxz! Liked him better in Hitler : Rise Of Evil or Trainspotting but still he rules!

I'm watching it now. I much prefered the first one. It had a certain Britishness about it. A cheap film but well written and well filmed. This just seems that it's got an element of Independence Day in it. IE nice affects, but a certain emptiness to it. It also seemed to have a lot of cash thrown at it. Yet seemed spent on nothing. Although the ridiculous chopper is a rage infected blender sequence couldn't have been cheap.

He actually was on the actual set, directing as a 2nd production group...
